| Re: PMS help ok so i don't have to see what i'm touching, no different then if i was blind. with the lights off and hiding under the covers its hard to really see things. yeah the trick to the slushies is they are homemade Rum slushies. I was hoping I was gonna be able to enjoy them too but the Rum made me sickly. I tend to pamper my g/f alot. She tells me I'm sweet. |

I had partial hysto 5 years ago and all of the things you are talking about with your loved one here, I had. All of my current problems relating to fibromyalgia, among all of the other shit wrong with me, I am convinced had to do with my years and years and years of female organ sufferring. lol. I too am very weird about pot. So many of the strains tend to make me paranoid and so I have to be careful what I get, and actually, can't really use anything I might find outside of a dispensary because I am never sure if it's going to make me feel worse. Thank the goddess for the dispensaries!!! I think there are two things going on here, one, probably some mental baggage related to any pot use at all, and two, her not having access to the right strains that aren't going to freak her out. Because, hon, I can tell you after years and years on anti inflammatories, narcotic pharms, surgeries and on and on and on, there isn't anything as good for pain and also the mood like cannabis... but it has to be the right strain, and the right strains are hard to come by recreationally. I think it would be worth it for her to get the recommend and then go to a dispensary, (be sure to ask around here and make certain its a reputable one that is health oriented) and talk to a consultant there about her issues with pot, her problems and suggest a strain. My first suggestion would be an extremely heavy indica, or like a KUSH. One hit for her should be enough. I would chase that with some circumin supplements and a glass of red wine. Now, I know some of the drs tell you not to drink with your meds, but I'm not sure if one glass of red wine counts since they also tell you to drink a glass for the health benefits as well, you'd have to check with whatever dr you go to see for the recommend. Good, heavy indica strains are also anti inflammatories. | |

| Re: PMS help She made it thru this time with only one day of terrible suffering. thank God that was on her day off of work. I remember her sister hada hysterectomy a few years ago. Maybe she is now having some sort of a problem like that as well. I just know she suffers so badly, to the point that she is now missing work due to it. |

Rep Power: 558 | Just for what it's worth and knowing how miserable and painful at least during the cycle, then ya figure approx 2 weeks prior for pms'ing, then the actual event, and a week or so for recovery.....it's time to do it all over again. I've read time and time again (backing the legitimacy as mj as meds) has been regarding Queen Victoria (and we all or most of us should have some knowledge about what a horrid prude she was! lol) and how she "took a cannabis-laced tea during her cycle to gain relief. I've no reason to doubt it (other than she was an uber prude) but I'd sure like to know how it was made! On days when I can only drink liquids, it would be nice to sit down with a hot cup of canna-tea. My words, not QV's....lol. If anyone knows of a recipe for this type of drink without having to get into the elixers and alcohol reductions. I have a feeling however, if she was gaining relief from her symptoms that prob one of her staff made an elixer of sorts....but I'll never know unless I put it out there and see if anyone has heard of this also. Thanks for any input and be well all! Peace and One Love, Free |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: PMS help Although I am not going through menopause and probably won't for a long time I can give you some advice regarding the PMS. I have noticed that personally, when I am at that time of the month simplicity is key. Really, I think simple pleasures go a long way. Applying a warm compress to the abdomen relieves cramps and allows the muscles to relax, which in turn relieves stress. Yoga is great for PMS and there are special postures for women during that time of the month...you can definitly find them at yogajournal.com also, when I am feeling annoyed or moody I think alone time is a great reliever because sometimes people are not in the wrong but I still release my negative energy on them which obviously is not fair. Also, a close friend of mine is prescribed MMJ for chronic pain of PMS and cramps and she swears by her medication to get her through the week! Goodluck! |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: PMS help I have PMDD - which sounds like your lady is suffering from (maybe in addition to/change of life). Gaba and theanine are 2 supplements that the Hollistic MD gave me for anxiety/depression/crazy bitch/you name it. They were helpful for a time. You can pick them up at a Mother's Market (if in OC) or whole foods. the Theanine is more difficult to find to find solo, but if you have a Hollistic MD in the area and cash (insurance may not cover)-very worth the cost. also, avail yourself of any other type of on line forum specific to the change or PMDD. If medicinal MJ is out of the question it might be more helpful to look there. I came to Med MJ because of the regular doc wanted me on Antidepressants, Pain Meds, etc...I didnt want any of it - the pain meds are too additive for me personally and I am not depressed half the month! I still can't tolerate too much Med MJ, but it does relieve the symptoms and make my life more manageable at home. Good luck and many blessings to you and your gal. annee71 |

Rep Power: 539 | I'm 45, perhaps I have a few angles to help. First, I found out that most edibles have an entire GRAM of stuff in them. Ah, no wonder I was feeling no pain, lol. Perhaps only 1/4 of an edible would be good. I've also watched the videos on the 4 government sanctioned MMJ patients, two whom have ALS, and how well they are doing. I'm thinking Edi has that medical vaginal condition, where you lock up, and nothing is getting past, no way. It's kind of like an anti-rape complex the body tosses up, for involuntary invasions. I can't recall what it's called, but on 'Loveline' Dr. Drew receives calls about it, all the time. The doctor was a baby, because for Pap Smears, it's a giant swab and stick, that they gently scrap the cells with. IT IS A MUST, because I don't care what anyone says - you can have cancer! It doesn't have to be from warts; it can be hereditary! I know...hi, I'm a cervical cancer survivor, and I went through hell to keep my body parts in my 20s. My Pap went from 0 to cancer within a year. Without my Pap, I'd be dead...fought it for two years, and panicked for 15. Don't believe the myth that stupid doctor said, because saying you can't have it IS A MYTH! Pocket rocket - on the external bits, for orgasmic endorphin release! You don't need penetration, to have orgasms. Those little things now come with nice little silicone ticklers and all, I find them very pleasant. When my pain levels are off the wall, you bet I'm reaching for that thing. ER, why people insisting on having babies, to fix PMS!? That's like taking a Ball pean hammer to solve a little prick on your finger, when you don't want kids. Children should be had out of love, not to fix a medical condition. I've been on birth control pills ever since I was 16, because I have PMS from HELL otherwise. And now apparently, I have many more years of it, because I have the ovaries of a 16 year old (they realized I haven't ovulated since then, and me ovaries are near pristine). I take low dose ones. I have 3 day periods, and my mood swings slightly. Fibromyalgia, with other things are on my plate...glad PMS is something I've been able to keep under control. And yes - my mom didn't like me going onto the pill, but I'd have to stay home from high school for a week, because I always suffered bypass, and that is most embarrassing. Hope that is of some help, Edi. Hang in there. |

Rep Power: 30 | Re: PMS help I swear by Traditional Medicinals herbal tea! I first found it at Holistic Solutions in San Mateo, they have an herbalist who'll make you a custom remedy too. Their tea is made with Medicinal Grade herbs, and is the best tasting tea I have ever had. Seriously, you will not go back to Celestial Seasons after you've tried it, b/c the quality is so far superior. They have a tea for PMS which I have not tried. I like one called Women's Liberty, it is a hormone balancer, and I have noticed a big difference! I feel a lot more normal and calm, my emotions don't fluctuate much anymore during the month, so I don't get 'snappy'. And I love the taste, it's a sweet licorice taste, mmmm! They have a lot of different kinds in fact, like a daily detox which helps your liver for example. You might also try acupuncture, free at some clubs, it is a truely relaxing experience that always makes me feel like a hundred bucks afterwards! |

Rep Power: 113 | Re: PMS help These are great suggestions. I am currently on a pediatric dose of prozac for my pmdd. It helped take the edge off but still not as good as medicating with herb. I smoke the most during that time of the month. Seriously, every month was hell with my mood swings until I started medicating. Ihope veryone finds some relief.
