It makes me sad to think that in this day & age, women would be treated differently, especially in the mmj community.

Of all our society, I would think the people involved with MMJ would have more of an open mind. We have advanced so much with this medicine, why are some people still in the dark ages when it comes to equality for all patients'?

Personally, I have to say this has never been a problem for me.
Although, I have been to only a handful of co-ops', every place gave me the attention & respect I saw given to the opposite sex.

Lets' hope some day soon this will not be a problem & ALL patients' will feel comfortable & given the same respect & shared knowledge to feel at ease purchasing their medicine.

We ALL need to stick together & HELP each other!

Once again Trippy 6 paved the way... in the best cooperative in the World Humboldt Medical Supply in Arcata, Humboldt California... Eric hired nothing but mature folks on his staff, I think the median age there was at least 35... and predominately woman worked there. Rest In Peace 666, You ROCK!

I wouldn't neccesarily call it mistreatment, but I went to a place in Summerland that was family owned/opperated and they did not know a single damn thing about any of their products. Apparently, the dad thought it would be a great way to make $$$ if he took the whole family down to Southern California and they opened a club.
The first time we went, it was the sons working, and they were trying to break off some hash for us by cutting it with scissors and it went flying everywhere. They picked it up off the ground and put it back in the container.
The second time we went, it was the mom and daughter working.
Neither of them knew the price on ANYTHING, and the mom tried to tell us that an 1/8th of this really crappy hash was like $130. Like, it was seriously bad hash, it had sticks and leaf matter all in it.

I am new to MMJ but I am not an older person. I have had the best help, compassion and understanding from older budtenders both male and female. They were not trying to get me stoned but trying to help me HEAL!!

I have not returned to the places with the "young" budtenders after wasting my money and not feeling like I was heard.

The younger ones think everything that gets you stoned will take care of pain and all your problems, but that is NOT TRUE. Anyone with real pain and other physical problems knows the difference. The lack of life experience and knowledge of the true benefits of MMJ of these young budtenders is appauling and makes it harder for people who are really sick to get the help they need. I have senior friends who gave up on MMJ because "young" budtenders prescribed meds that got them hallucinating or sick because of believing that stoned=health.

As soon as there is a coop that advertises that older male and female budtenders specializing in elder care, pain management, classes for seniors, newbies, etc. I will be more than happy to check it out.

I have not ever been treated poorly, but I go to the same places over and over so that they know who I am, and usually NEVER go alone. Try to make friends with the people you meet, so they remember you.

And I say this from the mouth of a 28 year old. But the difference is who medicates and who gets stoned, theres just such a huge difference. I'm not going into a club for that "dank strain" for $60 cuz it's "the bomb", will it help my migrianes? oh its an indica, sorry I dont like your "dank" buds, doesnt mean they werent grown with true love and care of the cannabis plant it just the difference in the use. Clubs need to understand that when a patient walks in, they should be walking in to pick up something to help with their particular ailment. Well that tells me, dont get me wrong BTs I love ya, we need more of the real good budtenders out there that ask what you're looking to aliviate and that's what the tender should make a recomandation off of, not whats the new dank nug of the day.
