Anaheim marijuana hearing set for today

Judge will consider whether to extend block on city's ban on medical marijuana dispensaries.

ANAHEIM – A judge today is set to consider whether to block Anaheim's ban on medical marijuana dispensaries.
A medical-marijuana group, called Qualified Patients Association, is suing the city to challenge the ban, saying it conflicts with state law and violates the civil rights of disabled people. Voters approved a state proposition in 1996 to support marijuana use for medical reasons, but federal law prohibits the drug.
Judge David Thompson of Orange County Superior Court has temporarily halted the law, but today will consider whether to continue to block the ban until a trial can be held.
Over the summer, the Anaheim City Council approved an ordinance to outlaw dispensaries that issue marijuana to patients. The association opened in the city about five months ago. Fourteen other Orange County cities have banned or are considering bans on such outlets.

No idea wtf i goin on at this time... full support tho for yous guys tho

i was born and raised in anaheim... i honestly believe there are just as many people here that are qualified to be legititimate mmj patients who truly get help from medical marijuana than in los angeles or in northern california areas like humbloldt county...

so what gives.. why no to anaheim but yes to santa ana, why yes to the other tons of counties in L.A. ????

PLEASE, anaheim, do the right thing here , and show me, as well as hundreds others that i know feel the same way as me.. please come out of this as being part of the solution and not part of the problem! peace

They havent lost the case, it is still going to trial, what happened was the judge lifted the restraining order allowing anaheim to proceed with the shut downs.
