I would say prudence dictates that you go online and verify that the doctor's license is current and make sure that he or she is not under investigation nor has been punished or sanctioned. If clear, I say do what feels comfortable and professional. With the ways things are going these days, I'd say if you are serious about being a cannabis patient, then think about paying for a legitimate doctor whom you'd feel comfortable testifying in court on your behalf. Go to a free medical clinic. I don't know where you live, but they are out there. You need to meet with a Primary Care Physician at one of these free clinics. Tell the Doc everything you told the Doc who gave you the rec, except don't mention mmj, just say that you want advice on how to feel better. After you talk with the primary care doc, ask the receptionist (or who every is running the free clinic) that you want a copy of your medical records. They HAVE to give you your medical records, you have a right to them. The records they give you will have everything you said to the primary care doc, and the records will include a diagnosis. Take these medical records to your Rec Doc, and your 3 month rec should turn into a 12 month rec. At least thats what happened when I went to the MMEC in Santa Ana. I got a 3 month rec because I didn't have any medical records on me. So I got my medical records for free and now I have my new rec! MMEC costs $150, but I had a really nice visit to their office in Santa Ana. The dr I saw there, Tarlan Nahidi, is gorgeous, professional and compassionate. | |

Rep Power: 80409 | Re: Time to renew our recs Thanks but I think I'll try Nature Medical Center $40 Renewals ANY DOCTOR! $60 new patients! I have had a rec for a 1 yr term for several years I don't need to convince anybody nor pay 100-150 for a 1 year rec. Those days are over I pray, the doctors need to stop gouging us! Thanks for the input, I'll let you know how NMC is.... |

Rep Power: 80409 | Re: Time to renew our recs Nature Medical Center DO NOT GIVE THESE CLOWNS A DIME OF YOUR MONEY! I was examined by a nurse not the doctor who is listed as examining me and they handed me a advertisement card for a collective telling me they will give you free meds. Dr. Gina Isabella Ferrara (CA License # A101580) should not be allowed to conduct business in CA as a MD. if she can't abide by the rules and is risking everyone's well being by exercising this type of practice. If the doctor named on the rec doesn't examine you then it's not worth the paper it's written on. She and her staff and Greenlifedocs.com are committing fraud. Last time I checked it's also illegal for a doctors office to direct a patient to a specific collective or pharmacy for medication. They may have cards in their lobby area but what they are doing is wrong. I plan on pursuing these issues with their LLC in Montebello today! Thank god my current rec with VERY reputable Dr. Aldridge is still valid for a few more days. BEWARE WTERS! Cheap is not always best....next time if I can't afford the best I'll wait until I can instead of going cheap and getting crooked! |

Rep Power: 7862 | Re: Time to renew our recs I highly Recommend ACC-Socal! Its worth the $100. Alternative Care Clinics has great doctors, several locations and a 24 hr phone & internet verification process that cannot be beat. You're all looking for the 50 dollar discounted rec.... I'd avoid all of those at all costs. Most of those wont verify you after 5pm and leave you hanging. Go where you KNOW you will always be verified. As a migraine patient.... my doctor not only sided with my ideas for medicating.. but also offered safe alternatives such as meditation to help my problem. ACC Alternative Care Clinics all the way |

Rep Power: 80409 | Re: Time to renew our recs Finally got a refund about 8:30 pm last night. Glad that's over, I'll be calling Dr. Aldridge for an appointment. I'll stay where I'm taken care of...heck Dr sent out a $20 off coupon for the holidays on an already discounted rate of $75 for renewals, he included a free wallet card with your picture on it last year. Hope that's still his policy, I'm sure it is...he's a very professional doctor that conducts himself very responsibly in the community. |
