Signs I should step away from the MMJ today

So I started off running some hot water through my little two-chamber bubbler. My first bubbler that I love so much. I set it down, it tips over gently and CRACK...two neat clean pieces. I actually knew this day was coming because a) I'm a clutz during "nature's special time" and b) the thing has had a small crack in it for a while. I've even gone shopping for a new bubbler but haven't seen one like this anywhere besides AHPS where I got it. Hopefully I can replace it there tomorrow but I am in up financial crap creek without a paddle right now.

So far so good. Well, my husband has a similar pipe so with permission I cleaned his and started to smoke a very nice Sour Bubba. Nice and, let me emphasize, smooth. Now I don't like coughing (especially when I already have a headache) so I have all kinds of ways to avoid it, including taking in a lot of air with my hits. So I was relaxing on the bed and taking in a hit of this nice smooth bowl, something happened that has never happened before: a cough hit me so suddenly and without any warning whatsoever that I didn't even have time to move the pipe away from my mouth.

Bowl: emptied. Wet ash: EVERYWHERE. Wet weed: EVERYWHERE ELSE.

I just sat for a second and thought, "Ya know...perhaps the universe is telling me today would be a good day to take a little break from MMJ." And yet if this is true, the universe must be a male, because being the "peak day" of that very special time, this means all the usual sort of stuff that we ladies endure, plus a worsening of my CFS symptoms. In other words, the one day a month I can guarantee I will be medicating.

It all worked out okay...but I did have to call in a Vicodin support team.

the end

DIG - i am happy to hear that everything worked out in the end for you. and sometimes you do have to call in the big guns (the vicodin).
but maybe the universe was only telling you it was time to get a new bubbler and not to stop medicating. just a thought.
hope your day gets better and better.
much love

Re: Signs I should step away from the MMJ today

Never give up, and never surrender.

Perhaps it's just the universe telling you to try a different method of medicating? Smoking is nowhere near the most effective way of medicating, and if you don't like to cough, perhaps you can try vaporizing if you haven't already. Much cleaner, smoothers, and less instances of coughing.

That said - good luck. You must be synced with my wife, since it's her special time too, though she just demands chocolate.

And now for some good news...

This does insure that tomorrow will be even better darkintheglow... Well as long as there is a tomorrow...

For me...

It's time when I spend more time editing my posts/PM's than posting which then insures that the new post counter resets as if I logged off.

It isn't a true spelling error as all the letters are there, but more as if my fingers can't keep up and then words begin to look like this... (siad, not said)

Kinda Like temporary dyslexia...

Then it's arcade time... :slaugh:

What are you, insane?! Blasphemy, Day of Infamy!

Just a bad karma day, all things a mess that day. Not in the stars and no hidden message. Temporary unbliss. No need to blame god's greatest gift to mankind, Shiva's emissary, etc. etc.

Best,

Ditto Ditto Ditto, edibles are the incredibles for me. Love my bubbler but there are days and times that it isn't appropriate for this sweet senior lady to be toking or packing in front of the senior yoga group. Although most of my friends know that I medicate. In some cases one very uptight gal pal pleads with me when I am on a rant to please medicate "It makes you such a nicer person"

sounds like a great day to me. you have some medicine, a home to smoke it in, a husband that loves and supports you and a bed to spill your bowl in. if you think it's a sign, it's a sign to remind you why we have MMJ to help us handle these days. if you didn't have the meds the story would have been much worse like with you throwing and breaking a ton of dishes and then beating the dog and yelling at the husband and the kids. you're just having a crazy day, let's not get crazy and blame it on the MMJ lol.

i drop stuff and break it all the time, medicated and not so let's blame all this and the price of gas on BUSH!

Re: Signs I should step away from the MMJ today

Heh, these responses are hilarious! Thanks for the smiles. I meant this to amuse, not really as a whine. I was sitting there amidst all the wet ash just giggling, really. What are you going to do? It was kind of an Annie Hall moment (with the sneezing on the cocaine, luckily nowhere neeeeeear that expensive!) And it was a $40 bubbler, no biggie.

Awww...that's such a nice thought! Luckily I have been provided with many today from my husband. :D

EDIT: Don't worry Spanky, notice the tag on the post (humor). :slaugh:

I hate the unsuspected cough that makes your bong act like a geyser. It makes smelly bong water go everywhere, not to mention the wet ash and meds like you said. I feel for ya.

i'm unfortunatly SO with you on this experience. i've had an EXTREMELY mentally and physically painful week due to the same reason. i even had an experience very similiar to yours the other nite (thankfully i didn't break any glass pieces or have wet meds).

i had just gotten home from working my gig, i was in SO much pain and starving. i had a couple of quick rips of my heaviest pain killing meds, then started to cook dinner. i was so out of it due to the pain, that i kept dropping everything that i was trying to cook. i was only making an omlette (trying to keep it simple ;) ) no big deal. the worst was i dropped a big chunk of butter between the stove and the wall ---i had to stop everything and clean it up before it melted (or before i forgot about it and in 2 wks it becomes rancid)---which meant moving the stove and of course the butter was smoooshed all over-----ugggggh.

luckily today has been a bit less painful. hang in there!!!

Re: Signs I should step away from the MMJ today

darkintheglow please stay away from the Vicodin. I have been taking those for 7 years now, and finally decided to just stop because I vomit every morning. I would get a vaporizer if I were you. Set it on low and no coughing whatsoever. I put mine a little up because I like to see something comming out of my mouth :slaugh: , but thats just me. Plus Vapping saves so much money I am finding out.

Stay away from Rx if you can :smile2: . I know some days it's unbearable most people on this site are really suffering, don't be scared to ask for a hand or advice. Stay up!!

You too! Apparently clumsiness is not an uncommon symptom around that time, which is so weird for me because I'm usually very well coordinated. I walk through doorways and slam into the jambs, or crack my hand on a chair as I walk by, etc. etc. I'm glad it's getting better for you. It seems my peak has not yet hit so we may have more Three Stooges action tomorrow.

Thanks for your concern. :) Unfortunately there are a couple of issues that MMJ doesn't touch for me, and one of those is headaches that are caused or exacerbated by my eye disease and/or menstrual issues. I take them only rarely but they're staying in my medicine cabinet. Thank god MMJ relieves the other problems that I used to take Vicodin for!

i hate to admit it---that happened to me to. i slammed into a door jam the other night and got a huge bruise on my arm. i also walked into the corner of my desk (another bruise). i guess this is what they mean by "hormone imbalance".

Talking Re: Signs I should step away from the MMJ today

I'm a relative of the biblical Joseph, and so of course I've inherited his knack for interpreting the omens of the universe.:slaugh:

The universe saith:
  1. You were having a bad day.
  2. Glass pipes break, especially when they're already cracked.
  3. The universe is not fair, especially to women. (The euphemisms you people come up with for female biology speaks volumes about its cruelty.)
  4. The universe isn't really talking to you. It is a constant of human psychology that we are inclined to believe so and disregard evidence to the contrary. Despite the karmic ideology so popular hereabouts, I am persuaded that the universe is not a respecter of persons. It is going blindly about it's business. (That's why compassion is important. If the universe was kind to the good, compassion would be evil because the only kind of people who'd need it would be by definition "bad") To personalize circumstance is to declare yourself it's victim, which is to ensure that you are. Please seek always to be "at cause" in your life, to use any moment to cause a better future.
  5. These are all reasons that it's time to medicate and chill out very carefully , with non-glass paraphernalia and/or edibles. (It doesn't matter if your brownies break!)

May the universe prove me wrong and deliver unto you a bounty of blessings and maybe ease up a bit on the cruelty of female biology.

Re: Signs I should step away from the MMJ today

You crack me up. Only a woman can understand the pain of being a woman. I have had days when all I wanted to do was sit on the floor in an empty room. That was the only way I could stop breaking things and hurting myself.
The best was when I was at a store walking along the back wall talking to someone next to me. Next thing I was on the ground. Some how I walked right into the wall. Depth perception can be I bitch.

Thanks for the laugh.

Beds and medicating don't always mix... I learned the hard way too. One time I was laying in bed, watching a movie, and smoking a joint, and the cherry fell off and landed in my belly button somehow.

Now that was bad ;)

I'm really sorry you have been down that road. I'm very lucky that I am not on that road myself.

HappaGuy, I'm not fully sure how serious you were being so I will respond in a serious fashion.

You have to know I was saying "nature's special time" with tongue firmly in cheek. I think it's the most hilarious euphemism. A gym trainer once said it to me (again, in a tongue-in-cheek way) and now I use it all the time.

I completely agree with you. I'm not very religious and I take responsibility for my own relationships with people and with the world (not to imply that religious people don't!). Again, I was just going for the funny, but it seems people have read very seriously into my post!

Thanks everyone for your very kind concern. It wasn't even that bad a day, really! (Except losing that bubbler, but as I said its days were numbered anyway.) I really, really don't take these things that seriously and none of what I posted put me in a bad mood or ruined my day...it just made me think "I have GOT to tell the people at WT this; who else would understand?"
