At first I was a bit worried as to what we'd get after all this time but after the first song kicked in, I knew where I was at, haha. I dig that song, "The Pot", a lot "You musta been....high." |

Rep Power: 18 | Re: New Tool CD I have been listening to 10,000 days for about a week now. It keeps growing on me. The whole sound of the album is different from Lateralus although some of the riffs and drumming sound similar. If you like Tool you will probably like it. I also like The Pot, the vocals kinda throw you off at first but it evolves into a great song! |

Rep Power: 17 | Re: New Tool CD yea those choppy vocals at the very beginning of "the pot" are sort of annoying. i still haven't really sat down and listened to this record in it's entirety yet. the one thing that stood out the most so far are the few moments of shimmering feedback and heavily delayed/chorus ala aenima. good stuff. |

Rep Power: 8494 | Re: New Tool CD aenima does kind of have shimmering sound to it. very clean sounding. undertow to me has a kind of muddy, watery sound to it. while lateralus is also very earthy and tribal, but with a lot of space. anyone else's thoughts? |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: New Tool CD I just saw them at Coachella. First time they have played out in 5 years. Needless to say, they were flawless. After 2 days of all kinds of bands, many of which i really liked, TOOL SCHOOLED EVERYONE. Even frikkin Madonna. They were far and away the tightest, most professional band there. The only thing that came close was Daft Punk, which was awesome too, but computers did the playing, not real musicians. Nothing like the sheer amazement of a crowd watching Dany Carey play drums. That guy is probably an android, considering his precision and energy, but the best possible kind of android. The new songs live were much better than the album. They just rock so goddamn hard live; even my girlfriend, who doesn't like that kind of music, had to admit that they were in a league of their own. I just downloaded the whole album and I'll go and buy it tomorrow. Got some C99, new TOOL, life is really good! |
