Rep Power: 31013 | Need Some General Inforomation I need to know a couple of answers. I received my Dr.s Rec 04/26/07 and will be receiving my State ID card this coming week. My question is that my doctor is no longer accepting or returning phone calls. I looked him up on the AMA listing and the State of California Board and he has just renewed his license and has nothing bad pending against him. Calling him I only get a recording saying he isn't in and to leave a msg for a return call or 911 if an emergency. Well the county was satisfied by just having my original rec and knowing he is currently licensed to practice with no outstanding issues. Will I be able to go into a co-op and use my Dr.'s rec which is all legitimate an my state issued mmj card, if the co-op is not able to verify my rec because he is not accepting or returning calls? I called a co-op in SAC today and they told me I needed to fax my rec to them in advance for verification. That they haven't figured out how they are going to handle the state ID cards yet. Why should we bother with them if they cannot be used in lieu of our Dr. recs? We had to supply the county the same information to receive the state card, as we would to go into a co-op. I feel there is a double standard going on. I went through a lot of trouble to get both rec and ID card and seems as though ID card is still useless. Can anyone suggest a co-op in the SAC area that accepts STATE ISSUED ID cards in lieu of the original rec. For some reason doctor can not be reached to verify your rec even though it has his personal stamp and signature. My meds are seriously low and anxiety increasing at an alarming rate over this dilemma. Honestly, I just want the heads up on proper protocol on the specific rules to use a co-op. Apparently no one co-op operates on the same basic rules as another.... Any input on this would be certainly appreciated! |
