Let's talk about Goo!

Ok...I'm not sure where to put this post....feel free to move it, if it doesn't belong here.

So I read this Post.

And now I am confused. Last week I bought a gram of flower called "goo" from an unnamed valley dispensary with one big guard dog. It was a really good high. I don't know if it is sativa or indica but I do know I really like the stoney high. I would definitely buy more.

but the post makes it seem like there is a substance called goo too.

Can someone explain?

With Love,
DQ

Re: Let's talk about Goo!

I am not an expert on these things and there are real experts on here so maybe they will chime in.

It's like the old Certs TV commercial: 'Certs is a breath mint, no, Certs is a candy mint, no, Certs is two mints in one . . .' Not really, but . . .

There is a Goo flower-- like Afgani Goo and there is also a concentrate named Goo-- I have appreciated both, but have no info as to what's under the hood. Imho, this thread would probably get more responses if it was moved by one of the ever-vigilant Administrators (respect) to a more appropriate forum like the ones on MMJ types and strains.

Re: Let's talk about Goo!

Like you said, Goo is a strain, I believe sativa dom. There are many crosses of it: Goo, Super Goo, Af-Goo, and it goes on from there.

Also like you said, goo is a concentrate. It is (if I recall correctly, and i AM medicated) a type of hash made from a butane extraction, which leaves a THC-rich goo-like substance. You put this goo on top of a bowl and WOW!!

If anything is incorrect, I'm sure somebody will be happy to enlighten us further.

...much love...

Re: Let's talk about Goo!

Hi DQ,

Goo and Oaksterdam Goo (a big resin producing variant) are indica Dom. hybrids. (mostly indica)

A butane extracted oil that is very thick (hence, "goo"-ey) is also called "Goo". ... no relation to the strain but the same name.
The lighter in color the goo extract...the more pure it is likely to be.

Goo is one of my favorite strains. I always have some around. Its fantastic for those that prefer an indica for daytime use, if used in moderation.

It's pretty unique in smell, structure and taste. Some patients use Goo for seizures and ADD in small doses. I find it helpful for body pain and muscle tenderness and sore joints.

Hope this helps.

Wow! Thanks everyone for your input. I really liked the strain I had too. I would definitely buy more and I would use it for day time pain med. I'd probably mix it though because I smoke a lot throughout the day. Maybe pack a bowl with diesel and goo...is there a diesel goo? That would be yummy. And I'd definitely try the gooey goo stuff too.

Re: Let's talk about Goo!

By diesel goo do you mean Diesel x Goo, or a concentrate goo made from Diesel?

If it's the latter, you could make it yourself with a simple butane extraction. There are plenty of tutorials on how to make concentrates on the internet.

Lightbulb Re: Let's talk about Goo!

gooey goo should be stored 'frozen' ... the trick is to get it out of container ,forming it into a 'snotlike' ball ... ya wanna wrk qwikly ,once softens ,will tend to get 'sticky' on its way to room temp. ... placing ball (.05-.1g) over flwrbed w/p.clip ... take a 'soft' flame to it ,watch her 'dropmelt' clean (no sparkle) ... personally ,like to put 'cut' flower over melt as bedcover ... protects 'goo' (earswax ,frzn trichomes etc.) from 'torch' overburn ,leaves 'scab' crust for easy pocket travel (won't flake ,crumble) ... since we're talking portable chillum (spoon) ,the 'pull' can get tough unless '2nd carb' is put thru bowlcenter (t.pik) ... now ,you're ready for the next 3-5 hrs , tolerance depending ( 5-8 snaps )... that's all .....
