Rep Power: 7887 | Landlord letters hit Orange County A dispensary in Orange County reports that their landlord received a letter from the DEA. This is the first such support in Orange County. The DEA has also sent landlord letters to Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Santa Barbara. The letters are originating from the S. Cal DEA office in LA. So far, no forfeiture actions have been filed, and sources say that the US Attorney in LA has no plans to initiate forfeiture proceedings. However, the DEA may well pick out one or two likely targets for forfeiture action so as to precipitate further fear among landlords. Rep Power: 727 | Re: Landlord letters hit Orange County Jimi, I don't want to see any of them get letters. I know they are not all so compassionate, but if one gets a letter then it is bad news and a knocked down wall making ALL OC co-ops targets. There are some very compassionate co-ops that are opperating there and I would be quite sad to see them go. |

Rep Power: 421 | Re: Landlord letters hit Orange County i thought price gouging & profiteering of med sales was against the spirit of 215 & 420 ? ($37 grams of schwig?!?!?!?!?!?!?) if it is indeed true a single collective in orange received a letter then i can't say i will be in the least bit remorseful for the owners & managers of this disgrace of a "collective" let me rephrase my previous statement: Please don't say it was any other coop in orange county besides that one off 17th st and the 55 freeway. |

Get a small office for your address. Change your co op to a delivery service. Lay low, wait for everything to settel down, then change it back to non delivery........and find a store front again... |

So in my mindset, i look at as a peaceful compromise. Dea doesn't want them there and neither do we : http://www.weedtracker.com/forums/sh...cpg-46945.html Last edited by jimichunga; 10-15-2007 at 09:15 PM.. | |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Landlord letters hit Orange County Yea, but it dosent have to happen.....Its just the cheapest easiest way to go....Many landlords werent born in the USA and may have moved here recently so they are easiely scared....... I know of a co op that got a letter , closed and re-opened..... Lots of other co ops are interested in how that happened so they can try and save their own... |

Rep Power: 463 | Re: Landlord letters hit Orange County A point of information, from a fact sheet we put together for the Governor: Beginning in July of 2007, the DEA began sending letters to property owners who are landlords for medical cannabis providers. The letters warned of a risk of arrest for landlords and the loss of their property if they continue to rent to cannabis providers. As a result, many facilities will be forced to close, thereby stifling access to medicine used by thousands of patients.I guess we'll have to add OC to the list. |
