Rep Power: 180334 | how to satisfy a high maintenace kitty i cant take it anymore. my cat drives me crazy, if shes not sleeping then she needs to be the center of attention. if shes not the center of attention she sits by the door and meows as loud as possible for long periods of time... it drives me crazy. what can i do to keep her entertained? shes got endless toys and giant scratching tree.. ive been thinking of getting a second cat so she would have a friend to keep her entertained.. but i dont know, thats alot of poop to scooop, and i hate scooping poop.. and what if they dont get along or the new cat likes to pee on things? then im stuck with two pissed off pets that pee on all my stuff and that doesnt sound like fun.. |

| Is the cat fixed? Sometimes fixing them helps. Since the cat was once an "outdoor cat" that's what I would think the problem is it's difficult to un learn something like that with such an independent animal like a cat. Last edited by snottracs; 01-07-2007 at 05:09 PM.. Reason: A post follow up |

| Re: how to satisfy a high maintenace kitty That's a great idea. My cat is also very needy. She wants to be carried around all day like a baby or else wants you to play with her. She is also very loud. I give her a bunch of catnip and she gets high and plays alone with her toys and then crashes out. I also have a dog and they play together so if there is a way you can find another pet and see if it works out, that may help. I know what you mean about poop though. I am all pooped out myself. My dog and cat poop more than normal animals... I think just to mess with me and make me have to clean it. :) |

| Re: how to satisfy a high maintenace kitty Yeah, as a Cat Owner for almost my entire life, here's some tips. If the cat isn't fixed, get it fixed. Should be fixed anyway, unless you're planning on breeding. (And if you were planning on breeding, you probably wouldn't be asking anyway). Second Cat. Unfortunately it's one of the few things that will get your cat to behave properly. And believe me I understand about the poop, I hate poop. BUT fortunately, this is the 21st century, and there are AUTOMATIC CAT BOXES now. I know, I have one. Sure, they're pricey, but they can save your life. They are totally worth the price. Litter-Maid makes one, but I can't really recommend it, as it has a tendency to break easily, and for two cats it's kinda small. THere's others though. Cat furniture. Like a big old cat tree or something like that. RUBBED liberally with catnip. Cats get lonely, just like people, they need attention. If she's the only kitty, then you gots issues. |

Rep Power: 521 | Re: how to satisfy a high maintenace kitty Since another cat is too daunting, have you considered a fish tank? That and a vape of catnip keeps my cats wired for hours! Seems to me this happens to your li'l beast around the holidays each year: http://weedtracker.com/forums/showth...9003#post19003 Perhaps she's feeling the holiday blues. Try a little egg-nog in a bowl. Then give some to your cat. |

| Re: how to satisfy a high maintenace kitty get another cat as yours needs a friend, and get an automatic litter box. We have the littermaid extra large model.(our cat is huge 14 lbs). We have had the box for 2 years. never any problems, just wash out with hot soapy water once in a blue moon. Also if you have problems with "sticking" in the box. before you add litter to it. spray Pam cooking spray litely on the rake thingy and the bottom and sides |

cats are shitty animals... they make you their pet... cleaning up all their shit... feeding them.. then for them only to act like you a guest in their house... fuck cats... buy a dog.. at least they act like a friend and appreciate care... not to mention if someone breaks into your house the cat is going sit there and watch the guy steal all your shit while the dog is chasing that scumfuck out the door with his teeth in the fuckers asss..

FIRST of all - I laughed. But mainly because I have a female cat and she is as much of a princess as I am!! My cat spends more time primping herself than most women!! My dog is male, and he stares at us like we are crazy! :) SECONDLY - I think lil missy laughed also! So no worries!! Best thing you can do is have a cat AND a dog. Best of both worlds!!

Rep Power: 69231 | Re: how to satisfy a high maintenace kitty This is my problem. My cat doesn't like to be in the room when I medicate, but as soon as I'm done she can't wait to get back in the room and hang out, whether or not I'm there. Just how high does kitty get from breathing second hand smoke? She gets wiggy enough from the cat nip. I don't think having her in a room where I just sparked a fattie is going to improve her mental state. But she literally will butt open the door or shoulder through, it's really obsessional. She also likes to listen to Frank Sinatra once she gets in the room which I don't understand at all. I feel like I'm running a vapor lounge for cats. |

| Re: how to satisfy a high maintenace kitty My dog is a thief of meds too. An old roommate of mine would come home drunk at nite and pass out of the couch. he would put baggies of weed under the couch cushions, and forget he put them there. on 6 separate times I caught her with a baggie in her mouth eating on it. I always make sure i keep meds out of her reach. shes real sneaky too. figured out how to get into grocery bags to help herself to dog treats. she will steal food literally out of your hand. i was eating/holding a roast beef sandwich when my g/f yelled about a fly, i moved my arm back with sandwich in hand, dog stands up and takes the huge bite right out of sandwich. my mom was holding PB&J sandwich which the dog snatched from her, before she realized what happened. |
