Rep Power: 543    | Can a dentist make a MMJ rec? Hi all, got a question for ya! Can a dentist or oral surgeon sign a MMJ rec in California? A friend of mine is going in for a lot of dental work, and was asking if he could get a rec for pain from the dentist. Thanks! |

Which is why you have specific doctors writing these recommendations, ones that understand the challenges of state and fedaral and have chosen where to stand. THe last thing a dentist wants is some kid asking him for a medical marijuana prescription because his tooth hurts.. |

But neither meets the state medical board requirements that a condition is "chronic and persistent" which means for at least 3 months. No Doctor is going to want to bew audited by the medical board for giving a rec. for tooth pain. See the medboard CMA oncall document #315 which is the rules doctors must follow to issue recs. Besides why give fuel to the people that think MMJ is a joke? |
