Rep Power: 793 | Buddah's Birthday in San Francisco! It's everyone's favorite fat smiley bald guy's birthday celebration in San Francisco today! In Civic Center Plaza there are some great performers and tons of cool booths and goodies. It's really mellow and a wonderful atmosphere for a stoney sunday afternoon in the warm sun ; ) If you live here you should go, and if you do go I highly recommend the "art of jade" booth...some really amazing jade jewelry:D |

| Re: Buddah's Birthday in San Francisco! I dont want to sound like a know it all Vinyl. But the historic Buddha was not fat and he didnt look nothing like the fat ass Buddha images you see in your local Chinese restaurant. He was from India and was an ascetic monk and only eat once a day like they still do at any good Buddhist monestery, not many left. The fat Buddhas you see are a Chinese culltural thing to make Buddhism more user friendly. The Buddha was a teacher not a god like some would have you believe and cant fix your Karma for you .Anyways bla, bla, bla . Late......Hand of Doom |

Rep Power: 793 | Re: Buddah's Birthday in San Francisco! Hehe, I wasn't posting a history lesson, just a suggested fun day out. I'd rather he be fat, bald, and smiling, but he could be tall skinny and sleeping for all I care:D Thats rather interesting social commentary, if he'd been invented in modern day united states he'd probably be a tan buxom blonde with collegen lips and daisy dukes ; ) It was a great day, I even got a bit of a tan and learned the proper pronunciation of Ukulele! Good times!!! |
