I just got a call from a friend who told me that she'd heard someone was going house to house in North Hollywod leaving flyers that say: Did You Know There Is A Medical Marijuana Dispensary in Your Neighborhod? Apparently there's false and inflamatory language. Has anyone actually seen a copy? I'd like to take it to a community meeting I'm attending tonight.

I'm bringing copies to the NoHo Neighborhood Council meeting tonight and I'm hoping this is the meeting you're attending. We need everyone who can come out to this to do so! The flyer text and more info is below, including the meeting info at the bottom of the page.

Please come to the meeting in North Hollywood tonight! Even if you arrive late, we need your support! Information for the meeting is contained below. If you can't make it, please call the Mayor's office and your LA City Councilperson's office to show your support for medical marijuana dispensaries.

This is a notice that is being posted on house doors in neighborhoods in North Hollywood and surrounding area. There is no indication as to who posted these notices, but we strongly suspect Officer John Smith. Below is the exact text of the bill with marijuana leafs decorating the top corners.

Did you know marijuana clinics are in your neighborhood?

They are not regulated and can open anywhere.

They are also....
* Soliciting kids at a local high school
*Solciting college students at a LA Valley College
*Opening up near schools
*Causing more crime

We have an onslaught of Marijuana clinics opening up in North Hollywood. To date we have 13 and more are opening daily. All are opening without permits. These clincs are soliciting kids at our local high sxchools and offering to provide them with a Doctors recommendation card for a fee. This would allow kids to Marijuana.

While all businesses are required to have permits. MAYOR ANTONIO VILLARAIGOSA'S OFFICE IS ASKING THAT BULIDING AND SAFETY STOP CITING AND CLOSING DOWN MARIJUANA CLINICS OPERATING WITHOUT LICENSES. Some Counites and Cities like Pasadena are banning the opening of Marijuana Clinics, but our Mayor is welcoming these clinics. He seems to believe tyhey are above the law and do not need to follow the basic rules all business have to follow in LA, like obtaining permits to operate. The Mayor has seemed to forgotten that Marijuana use is sill a violation under Federal Law. IS THIS WHAT THE MAYOR WANTS FOR OUR SCHOOLS?

These clinics are now requesting that Mid-Town North Hollywood Neightborhood Counicl support them opening up in North Hollywood without permits. Basicall they want a letter from your Neighborhood Council saying they are welcome in North Hollywood. if you are concerned about these clinics opening up near you, please be sure to come to the September 13, 2006 MTNHNC meeting and SAVE YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD.

Im soo terribly dissatisfied that i cannot attend the meeting, I would crush this women in a debate. If there are upcoming meetings in the near future please advise me sooner, so I can make time to drive down there.
