| Who's next to join the Tracker Team?? As the site continues to grow and our team becomes busy both on and off the site, the time has come to bring another moderator to the table. If you are interested, please review the following questions and email your responses to jobs@weedtracker.com. You can also PM me, but it will be easier to keep you on file if you email. Please remember that we choose our new volunteers based on what we need at the time we need it. We keep applications on file** and refer to them when we are ready to grow. **Please bear in mind, the old application system went wacko on us, we had to remove it. If your app was on file and you would like to be considered now or in the future, please re-apply. Sorry 'bout that. Blame technology. It will doom us all! Please include the following: ---------------------------------------- Username: First Name: Birthdate: 1) Are you currently employed, and if so what is your rough schedule? 2) Do you have access to a computer at home (and/or work)? 3) What would you like to see as your time commitment and rough schedule volunteering for WT? Would you be able to log on at least once daily? 4) What do you feel you offer the mmj community? 5) What do you feel you can bring to the WT team? 6) What do you like about the site? 7) What would you change about it if you could? 8) Do you have any direct associations with a dispensary, vendor, or other major figure in the field? Does a significant other, relative, or close friend have a direct association? 9) Do you feel strongly that you can work with a large variety of people, maintaining a professional tone with even the most challenging of users? 10) If you become a moderator, you will lose the right to fully endorse co-ops or write reviews on medication. Would this pose a problem for you? Email this and anything else you'd like us to know to jobs@weedtracker.com. NO ATTACHMENTS PLEASE. Be aware that all new volunteers are required to sign a nondisclosure agreement. Staff communications and user info is held in the strictest of confidence here at WeedTRACKER. Thanks to all and good luck!! -The WT Team Last edited by Zelig; 04-21-2008 at 02:04 PM.. |

| Re: Who's next to join the Tracker Team?? I've been asked this a few times now so to save time I thought I would describe the position further here, something I should have done in the first place! I'll do my best to give a run down; if the mods want to add anything to it, please feel free. The obvious part of moderating is enforcing the site rules, but mods at WT wear a lot of hats. They also all contribute to the decision making processes and help shape the future of policy and the site itself. Different moderators approach the job differently, and we welcome that. We don't work on a set schedule or hour quota, but everyone is expected to pitch in a substantial amount at their will. The physical work itself entails logging on at least once a day to respond to any immediate PMs and confer on any immediate concerns there may be. Beyond that there is no specific requirement per day. You are however expected to read everything that happens in our staff forums and keep up with developing challenges we may be facing. That said, when any of us are going to be away for a period or are too ill, we all know how to do each others jobs so it is never a problem. A mod reads posts, for the most part at their will, I do assign a few specific tasks to each person, but again we all help with every aspect. There is obviously a huge amount of reading, a lot of discussion, and a giant need for patience both with the users and the process. It's never easy running a ship of 40,000-- and we are always learning. Again, this is a volunteer position, so we're looking for those with a passion to be a part of the community and team-- and truly help us form a safe, ethical community of patients and their caregivers. Thanks again for the interest, please feel free to let me know any questions or if I can be more clear about something. Sometimes its hard to think about how to explain the things you do everyday because they have become so commonplace to you! Yours, Z Last edited by Zelig; 04-21-2008 at 02:02 PM.. |
