Rep Power: 556076 | Attention all collectives: Over the past few weeks we've noticed a dramatic increase in spam violations coming from listed collectives. Spam is strictly prohibited per the Terms of Service. Sending unsolicited messages to your patients is not allowed. This includes sending messages via Private Messages, Reputation Comments, and Visitor Profile Comments. Users will report you and you will be infracted. Repeat offenders are banned. This policy is strictly enforced and you will lose access- and this is regardless of any advertising commitment you have here. Spam messages do not have to explicitly state your contact info or menu in order to be considered spam. If you have your collective's name on a graphic and send it out to patients' profiles, it's spam. If you're just wanting to be super nice and let someone know about your amazingly awesome compassionate deal, it's spam. Your patients know when you're fishing for their business and they will report you. In doing so, you just lost out on a potential patient to care for. If you're unaware of what spam means here are some examples: Reputation Comment: "Just received some new edibles, think you might like them. Come on down" Visitor Profile Comment: Quote:
Private Message: Quote:
If you have further questions about this material please contact a staff member or the support center: www.weedtracker.com/support. Thank you for your attention in this matter. EDIT: To clarify, collectives are allowed to advertise their services in the 3 designated areas- your own forum, the "Deals Offered By Co-Ops" forum and the Clones forum. By all means please come and join the discussions in our social forums but leave out the ads. Weedtracker is a place for us all to communicate and join together as a community but those social forums are just that, a place to socialize. Thank you again for your time. Give me a call if you need further help. Last edited by MadRiverTurtle; 08-05-2009 at 02:36 PM.. | ||

Rep Power: 556076 | Re: Spam Issues On a somewhat related note, we'd like to address the issue with collective's signatures. Sig violations have increased along with the incidences in spam. These violations include adding coop information other than the appropriate "I work for _____" and links to photos and forums. Banner graphics are also not permitted. Please make sure your sig conforms to the guidelines. Examples of violations are.... "HOME OF THE SKYWALKER" "OPEN FROM 9am TO 2am" "Best deal in San Diego!" "At the corner of Spam Street and Spam Boulevard. Come check us out!" Please help us in reducing unwanted advertising in our social forums and elsewhere by hitting the report post button. Letting a staff member know about a violation helps to ensure fairness across the board. Thank you for your attention! |
