How often do you switch your Volcano on and off?

I'm wondering whether it's better to leave it on even during a drawn-out session, or if it should be turned off. Is it harder on the heating element to heat up, or to maintain a temperature for a long time?

you would think for how much it cost it would be made well enough with high quality enough parts that it woudlnt matter if you leave it on or turn it on and off.

I would think that, yeah. But I just want to make sure. I had no idea if someone would post in here "FOR THE SAKE OF ALL THE LITTLE CHILDREN, DO NOT LEAVE IT ON ALL DAY!" or whatever.

I turn mine off when it's not in use. The main reason being I don't want to risk forgetting that it's on.

Re: How often do you switch your Volcano on and off?

you can leave it on for hours. if you turn it on and off you will use up the heat element faster.

Kid Indica doesnt have much of a reputation yet.
Re: How often do you switch your Volcano on and off?

I turn it on when I want to use it, but once it's on, I often leave it on until I leave or go to bed. I usually need two or three bags to start, but then I may go an hour or I may go three, and I usually don't know ahead of time, so I just leave it on.

Maybe I should have voted for #4, but #3 feels a little more accurate. Some days, or for some part of the day, I feel fine and need no medicating, and the Volcano is off.

I don't worry much about it. The base is always cool, and, yeah, you would expect something this pricey and German to be designed not to wear out from being left on.

Yes, after medicating I tend to worry about forgetting it is on. It would be nice if it had an idle timer to let you know it is still on.

I hope you are right, I really don't want to test out my new $300 vape's warranty policy!

Re: How often do you switch your Volcano on and off?

For what it's worth, I have a whip-style vaporizer and I leave it on all day and it never skips a beat.

I would imagine that for $500+ the Volcano can handle being left on all day.

Re: How often do you switch your Volcano on and off?

When I used a Vapor Bros. I'd turn it off after the session was over. It hardly takes any time to warm back up. With my Volc, I leave it on as long as I'm using it, and if I don't plan on having anymore bags, I turn it off. Luckilly it has a timer, so after 1/2 hour it'll shut off on it's own. I figured out that was a good feature when I first bought it and could hardly move after a bag or two!

Re: How often do you switch your Volcano on and off?

usually I'll turn it off after the session is over just to save $ on electricity, but there have been times I've forgotten for several hours or more and my beloved 'cano seemed no worse for the wear.
