| How often do you switch your Volcano on and off? I'm wondering whether it's better to leave it on even during a drawn-out session, or if it should be turned off. Is it harder on the heating element to heat up, or to maintain a temperature for a long time? |

I usually need two or three bags to start, but then I may go an hour or I may go three, and I usually don't know ahead of time, so I just leave it on. Maybe I should have voted for #4, but #3 feels a little more accurate. Some days, or for some part of the day, I feel fine and need no medicating, and the Volcano is off. I don't worry much about it. The base is always cool, and, yeah, you would expect something this pricey and German to be designed not to wear out from being left on. Last edited by Kid Indica; 08-15-2008 at 11:56 AM.. With my Volc, I leave it on as long as I'm using it, and if I don't plan on having anymore bags, I turn it off. Luckilly it has a timer, so after 1/2 hour it'll shut off on it's own. I figured out that was a good feature when I first bought it and could hardly move after a bag or two! |
