Exclamation SawStop... This is impressive technology for wood workers.

"This YouTube video showcases an ingenious safety device. Table saws make it easy to cut materials to exacting specifications. Unfortunately, they can be incredibly dangerous. Nearly 3,000 people lose a finger every year."

If you work with or have worked with a Table Saw, you will be impressed.

I was

Absolutely amazing!

I use an old table saw that my uncle game me. It scares me every time I use it. With this device I would have no fear, even when medicated.

It would be great if they can adapt the same technology for machinery in the meat processing industry. I wonder if ground beef would taste the same without human fingers…

I hated working with table saws.

Not only was I worried about Da fingers, but kick backs too.

Watching the blade flex as it stopped had me wondering how many blades shattered before the proper amount of brake was applied.

The shattered blade would be even more dangerous.

:slaugh: Funny Kushy...

Boy, I wish it could be adapted, but since meat and fingers have the same conductivity something else is needed.

Me, I love inventing new products, but unfortunatly, I'm always designing something already made and produced.

wow! being a cabinetmaker for 37 years all i can say is wow! i also program microcontrollers and went to school for mechatronics and to have this much faith in a chip to stop a blade that is about to remove a body part is beyond my ability. wouldn't mind having one of these things on my saws.

How about a sensor that responds to electrical induction?

No cut "hot" electrical wiring and with a slight charge applied to plumbing...

Would sure end accidents in remodels using a sawsall too...

I hear ya Bro...

I have zero need, but was so impressed I just had to post the video...

If you'd just listen to the South Park shop instructor Mr. Adler and: "Stop screwing around so much, boys!" your fingers would be safe.
