Is it me or is rep power becoming to much of a deciding factor in how things go on this website and which people get to have a voice on this website. I went on vaction for a week and some peoplel jumped 5-10 rep power points. This is insane. A year ago it could take weeks to get 1!!!!! rep power point. I see no reason that wt even needs to have rep power. It is nothing but a popularity contest and in no way helps patients find better deals and quality meds. The leading wt's are all people who either own a co-op, work for a co-op or are highly associated with a co-op. Wt has definently drastically changed in the last 6 months. I hardly use wt to find good meds anymore, I mostly relly on word of mouth and friends since their are so many more patients now. No more growing discusions anymore is also crazy. I know it is a sensitive subject to openly discuss online but I also believe it is important to allow patients to learn and assist in being able to cultivate their own meds. Anyway, I'd like to here some other people chime in on this. This little thing we got going here really needs to tighten up in order to survive. These are some turbulent times. So to all my so-cal peeps, stay hydrated out their, drink plenty of water, spark up soome doobs and have a good labor day.

The rep has gotten out of control. I can't rep a lot of people cuz the standards went up. Longer time between, more posts/reps between, etc.

I've never felt the rep is important, but I take what I get. Here's some rep for you acruxatakk :)

Why are you so concerned about rep points? What do they have to do with anything? It's just a part of the community thats seems to be enjoyed by an overwhelming majority. It's largely for fun and community bonding.

But what is it that concerns you about them? How is it you think folks have more power over others based on the amount of lil green boxes under their name?

I'm not trying ot be antagonistic, but I think maybe you are putting a little too much emphasis on what rep actually means. Which is really a whole lot of nothing other than high regard from the community.

We'll probably adjust them for inflation at some point, but that's just to keep things clean. I'm not really seeing a lot of problem with folks spreading love to one another. But that's me.

One of the major problems is many of the high repped people on this site have swaying voices over certain people on the wt which leads to delting of posts, banning like crazy, voices's being squashed and hidden away like they never exsisted and then you get in trouble if you mention certains posts or even people. How can you tell me thats not a big deal. I know rep power is a fun little side game to the rest of this website, I know many forum siteds have rep power but why do we need it? Lets just get back to helping patients find good deals and continue to bring the price of quality medicine down.

Users with higher rep points are also often ones that have been here following the rules for some time. It's not a matter of sway. Anyone that reports someone breaking the terms of service that you and we all agreed to, helps us staff do our jobs. Perhaps you should be so vigilant as well if you are this concerned about the community.

All of our users are viewed equally in terms of the rules. If someone gets banned (gee should we just come out and say what/who we are talking about?) it is because they broke a rule they had agreed not to break and then betrayed us on the matter. Plain and simple.

rep aint no big thing. it's for giving kudos, that's all. sometimes it gives me great joy reading the other peoples rep response's, puts a smile on your face when they say something nice, makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. share the love.

If i called them out on it I would probably get banned which i'm not really trying to do. All i'm saying these high repped people who should report violations of the waver we all agreed to when we signed up. Give me a F'ing break, How many out their justcheck I'agree and didnt read one line of the sign up contract. And reporting one another, was is this nazi germany, it's a online site for mmj, let people talk, I live in the good ole usa and should be able to say whatever I want without fear of it being taken down.

So because you were too lazy to read the rules we shouldn't enforce anything? Interesting theories. I'd like to see what your website would look like.

It appears this complaint has more to do with something NOT being stated than on rep points alone. Since I'm not sure what it is, I can't really comment on it.

As far as the title of this post (rep points). I enjoy them. I love giving positive feedback and receiving positive feedback. I've never given NEG rep, and never will. I have only receive NEG rep points once, from someone who is no longer allowed to give points for abusing them, he considered himself the NEG Rep King.

I don't understand the argument about the rules or about how people with high rep power are silence those with low rep power. Or the argument that people with high rep power are co-ops (or closely linked to co-ops).

And as far as not finding deals for meds. I've only been on this site a few weeks, so I can't really say anything about before I got here, but I've boughten meds twice and both times I got a really good deal (free 1/8 and $100 1/2). And that wouldn't have happened without WT.

Some of these rules were put into place to protect us from being "taken down". The Dea and LEO are here with us right now reading my post. Certain things shouldnt be discussed here. Growing for instance is not a very good online topic. Alot of WT is doing is for our protection.

The staff I worked with would ONLY edit someone's rep if another user left a comment that would break the rules. Never once did anyone ever mess with a user's rep level, only the rule-breaking comments. I may not work here anymore, but I know damn well that this current staff would never mess with anyones rep power and they work their asses off making things better for the users, not worse and they certainly dont waste their time messing with people.

So users, dont ever feel scared that the staff is gonna mess with your rep. If that used to happen, it doesnt anymore and I know the admins would never allow that to happen now.

What does that have to do with anything? As much as you may want it to, this is not about you or what you did or didn't do back when you were staff. That period has passed and it's time to move forward. This is about rep points, and I was merely stating I do not edit them nor adjust someone's points, and neither do my counterparts. Only thing I have ever done is offer points for games in the chat room, in which case I did go into the admin panel to award the extra points.
