Rep Power: 20570      | "posts since your last visit" "posts since your last visit" I dont mean to sound like I am complaining.... but I guess I am ... sorry in advance...I have patiently waited for the return of my favorite little gadget for using the WT forums... I know you were all up to your eyeballs in 4/20 party preps and all when we last visited the subject... we were told it would return after you folks worked thru some "issues" How about it? any chance the feature will actually return? Or am I going to have to learn to live with the shi**y work around we have now???? I know, there are "other" ways to do things.... but the other ways are less convenient, they are an unwelcome change to a system that had been in place since the inception of WeedTRACKER... I find it very easy to just avoid the hassle... Web site usability has been negatively affected, for me at least. |

Rep Power: 556076 | Re: "posts since your last visit" The product that displays the rep notification and the "unread posts" in the welcome box took a major toll on the server. I'm not sure if anyone remembers but a month or so back we experienced a lot of time-out errors- "warning: can't connect", "504 Gateway Time-out", etc. Disabling that product and some others have helped to reduce those issues and increase the speed of the site. We apologize for the inconvenience. We understand that we've made several changes that have caused plenty of dissatisfaction amongst the users. In a few weeks we will be upgrading to a new version of vB and we hope to resolve the "unread post" issues then. So as of now we're not willing to trade off the "unread" link for a loss in connection and speed. The ability to search for the day's posts is still there, it involves two clicks. It can't be said enough, we apologize for this and greatly appreciate any understanding and patience in this matter and all matters related to the efficacy of the site. Thank you. |
