Rep Power: 4203     | Re: ever wonder how long weed last's, before it goes bad??? ive held on to grams and 8ths for up to 1 year. some super heady maui (not often did we get that in co at the time), some afgooy, couple of other strands that didnt come about often. i never noticed any difference in 'headiness' after the year, the flavor might've intensified, but thats it |

| Re: ever wonder how long weed last's, before it goes bad??? you know that saying: garbage in, garbage out. really, it all depends on how you care for it and store it. My herbs are properly stored for several months to a year before I run out and because I keep em sealed real tight, it is always as fresh as before, but the trichs start to brown due to oxidation from reopening the container on occasion. I've stored MJ in aluminum foil that was placed in a tightly sealed jar and put in a dark drawer = has lasted 30 some odd years!! However, most of my MMJ has lasted 4+ years or less, as that's when I got my rec. (12/04) and I store it well. =Judy= Posted via Mobile Device |

A mason jar is sufficient, and the fewer times you open it (although you need to open it and stir every once in a while), the fresher it will be. Strains that are rich in CBDs and CBNs (Kushes, heavy Indicas, like that) will actually improve in flavor and smokeability when long-cured for up to 6 months. Sativas and satty-dominant strains, not so much. The big thing is to keep the herb from drying out too much. You can also vacuum-seal buds and they will last up to a year or more if stored in a cool dark place (I like the pantry when I have one). Even if it's powdery dry, it will still get you high, it just might not be as pleasant to smoke. It also may lose a bit of potency.  |
