What is the best way to use cannabis to get a really good nights sleep? I have a big problem with insomnia , and I want to know what is the best strain to knock out and go to sleep really really quickly after medicating??

I'm not looking for the OG high I want the high that literally puts you soundly to sleep.

I find that edibles put me to sleep the fastest without a heavy high.

OG Kush works very well for me.
Others swear by the Purps of various types... GDP Comes to mind.
Any Late-Harvest Indica ought to have a pronounced soporific effect.

Edibles work for me 50 % of the time, I cant seem to find really really potent edibles.

In the past some strains that put me put out like a valium, when I smoked or vaporized the herb. It might have been train wreck or something?

Also does any one know about eating hash?

Ive Got That Same Problem.......Over At THC Studio City There OG Kush Well Im Not Really Sure If Its Real OG Or Not Its Deffietly Potient And Usually Puts Me To Sleep After 1 Or 2 Tokes........Even Durring The Day Which Is Why I Refrain From Using It Durring Those Hours........But Yea For $45 And Eight And Only 1 2 Hits For A Good Nights Sleep Its Deffieltly Worth It......I Suggest You Check It Out Let Me Know How It Works For Ya

I second that about the edibles....don't know why, but they seem to have an extreme "soporific" effect.

edibles are hands down the way to go, because youll stay medicated all night.
i have insomnia also, what my problem is...... is staying asleep ALL night.
But, if you cant find good edibles, go with any heavy indica.
if your not fully medicated in 3 hits, its not heavy enough.

Edibles Are Good Also But I Find Ill Wake Up In The Middle Of The Night And It Usually Takes Me A Good Hour Our 2 To Get The Effects From An Edible........So For Me Smoking Is Usually More Pratical But To Each His Own

try a bliss bar, they have a lot flavors. then some quality purples is good for sleepy time

i think what sucks is how much it would cost to eat an edible everynight of the week. were talkin alot of money, plus i would have to buy herb too. brutal. Butter or honey might be the way to go if you can find potent enough product.

You Know Whats Good........A Friend Of Mine Got Me Some Stuff Called Mamma Bella I Think Thats The Name.......But It Was A Potient Olive Oil.......I Would Just Try To Find Somthing To Mix It With And Have It For A Late Snack......I Never Noticed Any High From It But It Would Usualy Have Me Sleeping Rather Fast.......And That Whole Bottle Of Oil Lasted Me About A Month And A Half

It's definitely true that the edibles take a while to work. I'm tempted to try the butter or honey, but those probably take a while too, which makes the dosage hard to figure out (such a long lag time).

Any one who uses the honey or butter regularly.....how is it? Do you mainly use it at night (with dinner)?

Oh I saw butter at CCA WLA but that was a week ago. Still I think they usually have it.

How about the mouth spray? Does anyone know the effectiveness at treating insomnia and a place to buy a good batch of the mouth spray?

i havn't tried any of HNC's concentrates. But im pretty social with there patients when im there, and they seem to love it. i think im gunna try it out.

yes brutal it is!! if i can't sleep, eating a good strong edible and smoking a heavy indica on top of it will make me pass out 9 out of 10 times. But hell yes it will make you broke! ...and that, in turn, makes not sleep. see, it's an endless cycle... so lately Granddaddy Goo melted on top of Gods Gift has been putting me to bed and doing a good job of it.

Your edible must have a sufficient amount of potent hash in it to be sedating.

I used 4/10ths of a gram of Trainwreck hash with 2/10ths of a gram indica ground into a a fine powder and cooked in butter. Put the butter onto anything warm and fatty you'd like to shove down your weedhole. Massive sleepies. I've tried several other hashes with similar effects.

Also, Organix hash caps. Incredble sleep and no hastle. I haven't met a night a few hash caps couldn't correct! You eat a meal. You swallow a hash cap. Then, you have desert and smoke a joint. You'll be sleepy within a few hours. If not, take another hash cap. I've never made it past three!

You can smoke your brains out and never get the same sleep that hash provides in an edible. I've had extensive experience with smoking hash and hash based edibles and edibles with no hash.

Even hash smoked doesn't come close to what a hash edible does!

A good Pure Kush (Like EC) always knocks me out. GDP or some purples from some places knock me down too...

I've been a hardcore insomniac since I was 10 years old. So when I say 'knocks me out' I mean eventually... Of course never underestimate smoking a bowl and (I apologize to our female friends for this!) rubbing one out while lying in bed! Men work in mysterious and often offbeat ways!

try some nice dark purps
I started using herb medicinally for a horrific Insomnia condition and I found that bubba kush is very helpful for relaxing in the hours leading up to sleep and then some purps just does me in for the night
also good edibles and hashes always help
some dark purps topped with some top quality indica concentrate out of the RooR will usually get me to sleep pretty quickly

ahem...you're right! That is by far the second best cure for insomnia...The best cure is having someone else rub it out for ya, before &/or after smoking a bowl or two

Well, thats very good to know! I'm actually going to write that one down in my book of things to try later... Anyhoo!... But, personally, (not to manipulate the subject of this thread any further!) I find the assist of others in that department to be quite mentally stimulating. Thus, procuring the opposite reaction in me than of sleep... I know I'm out of the norm on that one...

Now, to put this thread back on track...! Uhhhhh... Ok, here... I smoked a joint of GDP about 20 minutes ago. I should be asleep by now. Instead, I'm waxing poetically about flogging the dolphin on WT!
