Rep Power: 353312 | Re: Do you have Insomnia check in at the Insomniac Cafe I'm up late nights. I used to take restoril to help me sleep but it would take so long to kick in. Then I would drag in the morning. Not that I don't drag the first bit til I get up... so I qualify in this area, Having said that time to go to bed I have to be up in less then 5 hrs taking Gary to work.. |

I have found Black Domina to be a most useful med for this purpose! Oh, and a Mom's Fubar Cookie can do wonders as well! |

Rep Power: 8731 | Re: Do you have Insomnia check in at the Insomniac Cafe some nights insomnia just reigns terror. other times i find myself wanting to stay up for some odd reason, whether it be a movie or getting being couchlocked at the pc on youtube. haha. i'm more of the sort to get a few naps throughout the day. inbetween classes and whatnot. lol. i blame my security job. really odd inconsistent hours. for the nights i truly need a full night sleep. a couple snappers of a nice bubba + a tasty indica full melt does the job. |

Rep Power: 3186 | Re: Do you have Insomnia check in at the Insomniac Cafe Perhaps we could also post the ways we combat our insomnia on this thread? Aside from pharms and MMJ, I have noticed that I sleep much better when I do not take a nap. I know some of you think this is not news. Well that's true for most of us, but I actually gave this advice to a friend the other day. She was taking naps every day and having a hard time going to sleep on time at night. Well, as much as I love naps - and I do - I have noticed that since I stopped taking them, I am sleeping much better at night - not even waking up once most nights. This used to be very rare for me. So, sleeping only at night is working very well for me. I miss naps, but I like a full night's sleep better. |

Rep Power: 353312 | I have always stayed up late... Guess I was used to 4 yrs a night for a long time..... But I was also having bouts with Ebstein bar. There was a period of a few years where I couldn't keep a job. I would fall asleep but yet be awake. Really hard to explain. It usually re-appears if I am physically exhausted. I could feel it coming on and would pull over to the side of the road. In the beginning it was short naps. But as stress on the job back then became unbearable it got worse. driving as a passenger in a back seat sometimes triggers it as well. I also developed Tremors (my hands would shake so bad) you cannot hold things especially glass... What I do is, mix up some meds flower and keif. but I did find that edibles if really strong and there are many out there that are...I just take a piece off just enough to help me close my eyes. (Thank you to: Moms,Hubby,DJ,OPIES, and others who cook like GODS.) Hope that helps someone else out.... Last edited by Bemysnugglemate; 04-03-2009 at 11:20 PM.. |

You wouldn't happen to be taking Wellbutrin, or Lithium? I heard Lithium causes shaking, and I know Wellbutrin causes it. I found out about the Wellbutrin when I was forced to videotape a friend's graduation from beauty school. She said it looked like it was recorded during an earthquake. I had to hold the camera during the recording, and all my shaking blew the show. I realized it had to be this drug. Ativan certainly doesn't cause shaking when you're taking a bunch of it every day. I clicked around the internet about it, and found many other people reported that it makes your hands shake and causes insomnia. I was on it for about 2 years. I guess the Ativan kept the speedy feeling suppressed. I stopped taking it a few months after the video, and I got into far better patterns of sleep. My doctor didn't encourage or discourage it. He couldn't get himself to give a shit. I got Kaiser and am now stuck with them. No therapy, but lots of good drugs. Anyway, I got off the Wellbutrin, and nothing happened. I did it over a period of 6 weeks or so. Half the dose, half the dose, half the dose, etc. I'd suggest you try a different sleeping aid, and try smoking water hash. The benzos are fantastic, but if you have a problem with addiction, stay the hell away from those. Trazodone, the drug I take for it, that'll put anybody down for the count. However, it is not a pleasant "buzz." It makes you feel like you spent your day loading trucks Last edited by Smokus Cannabis; 04-03-2009 at 11:45 PM..

Rep Power: 3186 | Re: Do you have Insomnia check in at the Insomniac Cafe Wow. I hope you're doing OK. MMJ is helpful, but so are a lot of other things. I keep thinking that one day I won't ever need any medication for my problem (chronic depression) but then every time I try to go off - blam! I'm reminded that I'm just dreaming. So how do you get along without the MMJ? How do you keep your head happy? |

Rep Power: 2106 | Re: Do you have Insomnia check in at the Insomniac Cafe INSOMNIA SUCKS! ha. i have it pretty bad as well. and i somewhat agree with "snugglemate." i dont usually smoke to get high. mostly for insomnia and knee/shoulder pains. dont get me wrong, the buzz feeling is great, but its even better when it puts u to sleep at night. any strain suggestions that is BEST for nighttime meds? i usually stick with the purps for it, but im open to try anything! thanks! |

Yeah, purples are good, and my favorite is Purple Urkle. That's the best strain put me to sleep. OG Kush, Master Kush, Nothern Lights, Hashplant also come to mind. To be honest, any MMJ strain will help me sleep so long as it's really strong. If you really want to go nighty-night, get some cold water hash. At my co-op, it goes from $20-55 a gram. I buy the $25. If I could afford it, I'd buy the $55. I've only gone up to $40. I just feel stupid putting down any more that $40 for a gram, but maybe I should....? Hash will put me to sleep faster than any other kind of MMJ that I can smoke, but edibles are even stronger. At my co-op, they have $40 10X strength brownies. If you are in a very bad place, and would like to escape for a while, those are a good way to do it. I'll eat any brownie that's 3X or up at my co-op. Problem is, they cost a lot of dinero. I'm going to start baking my own. Strong edibles will knock me out almost as well as benzos. I tried it a couple of times when I had insomnia, and it broke me through that wall - but I also took my pharms as well. Experiment with the different strains. I also hear an early harvested plant means a more "up" high. When the trichomes turn amber, a couch lock high. Anyway, just try to get some sleep and take care of yourself. It's 3:11 am on a Saturday morning. I decided to see what would happen if I skipped my sleeping pill. Insomnia - what a surprise. OK, I've hogged up this thread enough. Carry on, folks.

Rep Power: 21295 | Re: Do you have Insomnia check in at the Insomniac Cafe Well I was actually getting a decent nights sleep for once.. til my cat decided that 4am was the perfect time to start cleaning momma's eyebrows. Now I get to stare at the ceiling for the next couple hours. *sigh* Wish I could find a flower that helps put me to sleep, but I haven't found one yet, and edibles dont knock me out either. So once I'm up I usually just putter around the house again til my brain shuts down... then I cross my fingers and hope my body decides to follow. |

Rep Power: 2862 | Hey middle of the nite'rs My problem is, I can't sleep for more than a few hours. I was finally in a deep sleep tonite when my cat decided to jump on the bed and start talking to me. He's part Siamese so I can't blame him. I wake up about that time every nite without him. Anyway, I just medicated with a joint of primo kush and I am so wide awake I could do anything. MJ really doesn't make me tired enough to sleep, edibles put me 2 sleep hours later. As a matter of fact I had a milk chocolate Doja bar last nite, went into bed at 11:30 and up again at 4, that's the way my nites go.....Too bad it's pitch black outside and nothing to do. The family is all asleep so I am respectfully, very quiet. It kind of sucks but I am getting used to it. Guess I'll go on YouTube or turn on "the tube" Good nite, for those who are trying 2 sleep, Good morning to those who have given up Medically Speaking |
