I used to meditate many years ago and I am thinking about taking it up again. I found this site while looking around today and it seems to be pretty good. Mark | |

Rep Power: 252 | Haven't heard of it till, today. But, I practice raja yoga and do some asanas (posture) and pranayama (breathing techniques) from hatha and kundalini, I like to take certain ones and coincide them into my yoga sessions. It's quiteeee blissfull Namaste |

Rep Power: 0 | Any form of meditation is good for you, be it Vipassana, Zen, or whatever. Personally, after 30+ years of going to different temples (Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, etc.) and taking their classes I discovered weed can be helpful in terms of intensifying the experience. None of them would probably approve of this even though some Indian holy men do get high. One of their objectives is to escape "attachment" and thus dependency and resulting pain (if it can be given, it can be taken away, resulting in loss/pain). BUT anything that helps you down the path is a good thing in my eyes. Let the dogmaists (?) beat each other up. Here's a good overview: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meditation. Bang a gong and get it on. Good luck! |
