Everyone is entitled to believe what they want. Absolute proof is impossible.....either way. People have been trying to prove or disprove since the beginning of time. I would hope we find out when our journey on this good earth is over. These bodies we have are but a shell that houses our spirit. Gobs of love to everyone! |

"GOD" is real |

Agnostic here- i don't have any fucking clue, and neither do you. anyone who thinks they know the truth is lying to themselves. we are all at the mercy of the UNKNOWN. i believe that there are endless possibilities. when i look at the night sky i see a universe that goes on and on and on and on....how can i be so narrow minded as to think i know whether there is a higher power governing all of it? and if there is a higher power, i believe that it is FAR beyond human comprehension. but i'm not going to be so arrogant and foolish as to believe in something just because other people tell me to. you can believe in whatever the fuck you want, but it doesn't make it true or real. whatever the truth is will remain so regardless of what we think. |

i dont have answers for why a being talks to me sometimes..i hope that someday this higher being than myself..... does contact u in a postive way... I have seen many pastors that have used religion to there advantage....and abused sacred privledges.. I asked...for proof..and now i believe.. Its very wrong that people would use religion to control others.

Rep Power: 30196 | Re: So you believe in god? The Birth of Conversion: Brainwashing in Christian Revivalism in 1735. Conversion is a "nice" word for brainwashing...and any study of brainwashing has to begin with a study of Christian revivalism in eighteenth century America. Apparently, Jonathan Edwards accidentally discovered the techniques during a religious crusade in 1735 in Northampton, Massachusetts. By inducing guilt and acute apprehension and by increasing the tension, the "sinners" attending his revival meetings would break down and completely submit. Technically, what Edwards was doing was creating conditions that wipe the brain slate clean so that the mind accepts new programming. The problem was that the new input was negative. He would tell them, "You're a sinner! You're destined for hell!"........... http://www.rense.com/ufo6/mindcontrol.htm |

See the devil is in you cuz your mocking GOD. Some of the questions you asked, i cant answer because I havent met GOD! OPen your eyes, the pope is evil. He is trying to burn the bible so we cant learn about GOD. Hes trying to establish a one world order. Microchipping us like slaves and in the future they will probably kill us who believe in GOD.

Some of the questions I asked..you can't answer because you haven't met him....INTERESTING. So how can you defend the bible if GOD himself hasn't told you that it's true. You all say non believers don't have faith...NOT TRUE. I have faith in the Lakers winning this years championship again. I have faith in my mother being there for me when I need her. I have faith that the door will open when I turn the knob.

Rep Power: 641312 | Re: So you believe in god? This is why we don't discuss religion or politics at the dinner table, or in front of guests..... The truth of God's existence or lack of existence is the same regardless of any of our personal beliefs, arguments or opinions. The best part of the time in which we live, is there has been enough written on either side of any argument that regardless of what side a person wishes to take, an argument/study/expert can be found to validate that argument. Whatever you chose to believe, live like it. Christian, Hindu, Atheist, whatever....don't be a hypocrite. Stay true to your beliefs, if you are a Christian that means do not be loudmouthed, condemning or judgmental. Regardless of the side you choose, do not condemn or judge another for believing different. You will not sway them, you will only alienate them and/or make your argument and all who believe it look bad. Live your beliefs and people will ask you about them, about how and why you are able to live like you do. That is the only time to talk about personal beliefs like God's existence. IMO. ...realizing I get all philosophical and preachy when I'm exhausted.....need to relax more... |

Rep Power: 198369 | Re: So you believe in god? cephas, I believe we must also allow for a discussion of it in a forum called, "Religion & Faith." While I agree with you that we will not resolve this issue in this thread one way or the other, it is an important topic for all sides to discuss. I also agree with what innerlight said earlier in this thread, that we will all know the absolutely correct answer after we pass from these bodily shells, given that we have moved on to another state of awareness. I do not know what awaits me there, but I feel almost certain that we will not be sitting around singing hymns. If there is something that we move on to in the after life, it must be something truly incredible, beyond our imagination, much different from our human experiences, IMHO. |

Rep Power: 65776 | Re: So you believe in god? I have felt evil vibes before and have heard some weird shit when I was staying at a house in Mission Viejo for a while with a couple of my buddys and his dad a few years ago. Both me and my friend heard it different times but it sounded like a combination of an orgy and a human sacrifice and nobody was getting sacrificed outside the house. So how do you explain that?I also had a nightmare one night at that house and I never really get bad dreams but it was the worst nightmare I had where I screamed and my face was gray and in the dream it was like a black evil spirit was comming over to me. Maybe the people who lived in the house before where satan worshipers. So if there is evil out there then there must be a devil which makes me believe in the Christian religion. I got more into Christianity when I was in eleventh grade. Some friends got me into it and we would go to some bible studies and we didnt drink or smoke weed for a while then I sort of fell away from the hardcore Christian lifestlye. I dont think you have to live like a saint just have faith in Jesus and as long as your not to sinful like killing people then I think you will make it to heaven. I just dont like the rich yuppie Christians who think going to church every Sunday is what you have to do to be a good Christian and who dont give a fuck about the lower class. Also I have heard stories of people seeing the white light and then comming back to earth because it probably wasnt there time yet. I have heard them say when they go to the white light they see there past pets and others they knew. Also how do you explain the white flashing lights I mostly saw at my moms house up north but I saw one down in so cal one night also? Just dont give me your science shit when it comes to god. |
