The simplest explanation for everything in the universe is god. It's extremely easy to attribute the explicable to a divine being and leave it at that. IMHO, it's far more difficult to try and face the uncertainty of existence head on, without the benefit of being able to wrap everything up in a neat little god package.

But in the interest of this forum which is in fact labeled "Religious and Faith based discussions" I have to correct you on your notion of your god being a "him". You list many different types of strains yet the plants that bear these strains are "female" so to speak. So don't you think you should be giving HER credit? I also argue that only a MOTHERS love can produce that many strains. So please give your mother almighty the respect she deserves and stop referring to her as male. hehe |

Rep Power: 1671 | Re: So you believe in god? John 1:1-51 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. ... Most people need to have a life changing experience to find god. When i say "FIND" i mean we are all created in the begining with god in our heart some just lose that feeling like I said earlier its easy to not belive in something but its very hard to stay a believer as long as there are sheep with evil in their hearts that want to poison and destroy my faith. Even tho you see my faith as a joke! Look at your own life and tell me does it bring you laughter and happyness? What are you feeling inside that would make you have a negative attitude towards a faith that has nothing but good intensions for people? |

No one wants to destroy your faith, they only wish to redirect your faith into yourself, and other real people, places, and things, so that you may blossom into what you always could have been, ever since your birth. Religious doctrines only serve to place boundaries on your growth, restricting your natural glow, molding you into a creation of the church's leaders. You are their project, just like all the other followers... Religion is a big business and they gain and maintain customers through deceit at the deepest level; convincing you that you actually need them for the sake of your soul, for without you'd be doomed to an eternal suffering beyond all comprehension. It's actually quite disturbing if you really think about it... Quote:

Imaginary beings can't help you. Even when you think your imaginary friend has helped you, it was really just yourself! Look in the mirror, do some soul searching, investigate yourself and realize your value to this world. You didn't ask to be here, so you don't owe any organization, any church, or any imaginary being your loyalty. You only owe loyalty to yourself and your loved ones. Once you can get beyond the fearful thought that a powerful being somewhere might punish you for exploring your potential, there will be no stopping you. Even the sky isn't the limit. Once you take your soul back from the BUSINESSES that have tried to wrangle it away from you, you'll be unstoppable. Ever notice how almost all of the most successful and respected intellectuals in our society are atheists? Because they allowed their minds to remain open, and much like sponges they soaked up all the information and wisdom that surrounded them, rather than waiting for it to fall out of the sky, or magically be granted to them one day by an invisible deity after they passed some patronizing test. But let's suspend rationality for a moment and pretend that hell does exist. While we're at it, let's add heaven into the mix, too, for good measure. Now imagine what goes on in heaven as opposed to what transpires in hell. Heaven must be filled with religious folks, right? All the boring people who waste their Sundays in churches and fill their leisure time with bible reading. What exactly are they going to be doing in heaven for all eternity? Praying? Contrast that with what's doing on down under i.e. in hell. If hell's the place for nonbelievers then it's gotta filled with the coolest cats in history like Jim Morrison, Thomas Jefferson, and Nietzsche. Of course, hell's gotta have all the good drugs in addition to all the best music, art, and literature. In sum, hell sounds like one giant , eternally awesome party! So when you tell me I'm going to hell, the most accurate response I can muster up is a resounding SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET! SEE YA THERE!

As already pointed out in this thread, the many various strains that exist are an example of human ingenuity (cross pollination, etc.), not direct evidence of God's creation. This argument is akin to the video of those two nut jobs that were claiming banana's and their shape prove the existence of God because of how well they fit in the human hand and even how they had a "built in pull-tab". It sounds all nice and good until you realize a "natural banana" is a fairly inedible, furry nut that--through hundreds of years of farming and cross breeding--has become what we now call a "banana". The banana, as you know it, is a human creation. Quote:
