I think the BIG Question is............ How did Anything ever come into Existence??? I'm referring to Matter itself, to explain what I'm saying....Even with the Big Bang Theory, if we follow it all the way back to the start Where did that initial Substance/Matter God come from???? None of it logically makes any sense.....Logically there should be absolute NOTHINGNESS.......no Matter no God, NOTHING. Everything has to come from somewhere, so if we keep going back and back in time, where did Anything, be it Matter/Substance or God itself come from, logically at some point there should be Absolutely Nothing. So for those who would say.....Matter/Substance God was always there, well where did it come from, I mean that makes no sense, it had to Become into existence at some point somehow from somewhere, it makes no sense, logically there should be nothing at all. Let me say again, logically there should be Nothing.....Absolute Nothing, not even Empty Space, how can Anything even Exist in the first place, it makes No Sense. So with that said, since the Existence of anything at all is impossible in the first place and yet it Does Exist, I would say Basically We Know Nothing At All and Anything is Possible, any God any Religion or none at all.  |

Rep Power: 10 | Re: religion fact or fiction there was this guy who had this theory about other worlds having similar life to ours he calculated for every solar system that has a huge star aka sun would have similar planets surrounding it and one of those would be at right distance from the star to have life just like earth There are supposedly and endless supply of planets with life if so i wonder if they are years ahead of us or years behind us there is possibly a planet out there still roaming with ancient creatures amazing or possible things our imaginations could never dream of Ps for the modern miracles i believe they are simply evolution hopefully we can evolve a cure for HIV/AIDS. Cancer has had a punch to the face in the last decades due to advances in medical technology but its still fighting back taking lives hopefully we can evolve a faster more effective theory to fighting diseases evolution the greatest miracle of all and god didn't do it we did |

When someone jumps out of an airplane and their parachute fails and they smack the ground and live, that's a miracle! They happen all the time, we're so information filled and moving so fast we just don't see them for what they are. |

I choose to BELIEVE in GOD & MIRACLES! as far as I can tell- LIFE is a MIRACLE! I THANK GOD for ALL of my BLESSINGS & ALL the HAPPINESS that I enjoy! Believing that there is an everafter, where we will be reunited with our Loved ones, is what keeps me looking forward to the future. Life is what you make it & GOD in my Life is what makes it meaningful. |

I think some of the greatest men of the last 2000 years Ghandi, Jesus, Lincoln, Didn't claim to have religions they had relationships with whom ever they felt was the Devinne creator! In the Long run I think each individual is energy, Positive and negative, What you do affects those around you and some times it has a rippling effect and goes beyond your reach. Theres those that are low on the scale, People who have no remorse regret or guilt, Then theres those that are on the Higher end, People who Cry when theres an Earth Quake that kills ten thousand or a hurricane that kills more than twelve hundred!! Those who are caught in the middle seem to want to help or want to change but need that guidance or push in the right direction!! Lifes to short to say your right or wrong about your beliefs, Thats what makes us uniquely individual, We all have a choice to learn and feel the way we want!! Thank God or Jahova or Buddha or Alla, Or Mohamed, Or the Great I Am who I am!! I am a Cherokee and Thank God is "LOVE' and to me Love is this beautiful place called Earth that he made us to be Stewards of, ARE WE? Jesus saved us, Lincoln Freed us, and Cannabis Hemp can fix it all!! Just my opinion don't hate me for them!! |

I am not religious at all and am completely anti organized religion as I feel it is no ones right to tell me how I am to act or be, if I dont let the feds do it I am definately not going to let some guy reading from the bible tell me the same thing either. |

You either have "faith" that there is more to life than just carbon based life-forms sucking oxygen till they stop... or you dont. And faith is not something you can put on a scale and weigh. Its not something that can quantified or measured by modern science. So "Is there a God" isnt going to be answered on a National Geographic special on TV. I am an engineer. I was trained in the science of the physical world. I worked in the world of palpable, measureable, repeatable phenomena. The OP asks why there are no "miracles" like in the "old days of the Bible". The OP says that a survivor of the World Trade Center wasnt a miracle, but was lucky... I cannot possibly prove that supposition to be untrue. Of course, the OP cannot possibly prove that it wasnt a miracle, either. Luck or divine intervention? Result was the same, someone lived to tell a story. You see, its that "faith" thing again. I have faith that things I cant exlplain do have causes, I just dont see or understand them. Miracle? Luck? a matter of semantics. As a matter of fact, if you think about it, we often use those two words almost interchangeably... "Man, it was a miracle, my cancer just went into remission...." "Man, it was lucky, my cancer just went into remission...." |
