Rep Power: 82323 | Re: Religion Is Bullsh!t This is a topic near and dear to my heart. I believe God exists, but we don't know any real facts of what God truly is. I believe that all religions are the results of attempts by respective groups of people over time to reach God, not the other way around. There is much love and wisdom built in to many religions, with an important social aspect, but unfortunately, many religions are exclusive, saying that other religions are the wrong path to follow. And then the fighting starts, and now it may lead to destruction of the world as we know it to support human life. So, I conclude, that we, as a world population, must figure out how to let go of our old world religions, and form new ones, that will help us and our children and children's children all learn to live as one world. That is my hope, though I realize how long the odds are that we will all figure this out, and make the needed changes, in time. |

However, two-thousand years ago average life expectancy was less than 20 years or about 7,000 days. It is difficult to imagine, but most of our ancestors kicked the bucket before our modern legal drinking age. |

Rep Power: 7982 | Re: Religion Is Bullsh!t   The way i feel about christianity,muslims,catholics or any other religion that worship ghosts have skeletons in there closet.they try and make good of there insecurities or bads.Faith=belief that is not based on proof.+ i dont feel like a born from some rib labeled a sinner or dieing for for wine or 72 virgins.These faiths are for the weak minded/hearted...i feel like a human being @ peace with earth.everything on earth has some sort of the same dna in some way.be it iron,zinc,protiens.w/e...Religions are killing earth.Weed need to sit down and really think in mind who has provided for you and our existence with food, fluids, and resources for shelter since the gate?i vote for Grandmother Earth!and give thanx to the Grandfather Sun for its radiant and sensible heat to us give life. |

You cannot contain something in an idea that embodies spirituality, goodness, love, acceptance, openmindedness, joy, knowledge, wisdom, contentment, enlightened etc. The more you try to define it the more you restrict it's existence. I got into a discussion with a fellow who told me we now have definite proof that God didn't create life because scientists had successfully created life in test tube, and if I Googled it, I'd see he was right. He also concluded that God having the Jews as the chosen people was likewise unlikely. But this did not stop him from realizing that only the concept of God gives us something to go on for the creation of the universe and life within that universe. I was wondering what you personally believed until you started speaking for yourself. I agree that religion is BS, but I do not think we use the word the same way. To me, religion is all the human traditions and attitudes which separates people - it is cultural and not spiritual. Wars were and are fought over these traditions. Great evel has been done in the name of God, by men, and God get blaimed and discredited. Religion has nothing to do with my experience of God - I experience communication with God, and I feel His love for me and all humans. I believe we all have the build in ability to feel, hear, and speak to God. I see God as a loving consciousness. A great mystery, but loving and always here with me. Why has this not happened yet? One thing common with people, is they do not get along nor do they cooperate in even important things. People are not rational. They are mostly emotional. So logic like yours just does not work. It takes supernatural help to fix some things that appear to be logically simple to do. " I dont follow your logic. When humans are defeated by another person, they usually feel anger and maybe hate at the conqueror. So how does defeating another person fight hate? If we are to learn to live in peace with everyone, do we not have to treat others with different experience and belief with respect and love? This thread would not be here if you respected others who believe and see things differently than you do. It is judgment followed by disdain. You have spoken about what you do not respect or believe, do you have any beliefs yourself that you wish others would respect, even if they disagree. My experience with God has enabled me to live a fearless life. I am a happy person. I love others and do what I can to help them with real help. I know many phony people who act like they are something other than who and what they are. These are the hypocrites that even Jesus despised. I am not trying to put you on the spot by responding as I have. I know you have experienced hypocrite "Christians" in your life experience. I surely have.
