Rep Power: 179 | Reiki while medicated? When medicated (and still in some pain), I will utilize both an 'Angelic Based' energy healing techniqe referred to as Reiki and an 'Earth Based' energy healing technique that calls upon the spirits of animals, plants (besides Cannabis), different stones/minerals and Earth Spirits with profound results. Yes, I know that some skeptics will say it is only due to mindset, but I believe what I believe. I have medicated with the same fresh Cannabis both with the energy techniques and without. (And yes, I tried to use a scientific approach with the same fresh herb, same size vapor bag, same time of day, etc. --- attempting to make each possible variable the same.) I have found that I can get a much more intensive pain reduction when I encompass the Spiritual with the physical/herbal healing. I have found that my sleep is much more sound and without the need to wake up and medicate before regularly waking. Also, I can 'distance myself' from my body and focus into the more painful locations and put the energies to work at that point. My question is ... has anyone ever used a similar healing technique or am I the only "unique" (or crazy) one? You may call it prayer, the power of Christ, Brahma, Allah, Geitche Manitou, or any other "Ultimate Authority" that you wish, but to me, it is all GOOD energy. Please, I'm going under the knife on December 29th (more knee surgery), so PLEASE I really don't want to read a whole bunch of negative comments. Again, PLEASE, mainly respond to the question. I really am curious as I've mentioned this to a few other MMJ users and they looked at me a little crazily. Thank you. |

Rep Power: 698107 | Re: Reiki while medicated? Sir Don, best of luck to you with your surgery...I'm sure that it will work out positive for you. Your mindset is everything. And yours seems to be in a very positive place. I am a massage therapist/ holistic health practitioner, but work mainly with the western techniques. Whenever we involve our whole self...bring in positive energy and connect to the oneness of the universe, the end result is always rewarding. No matter what modality is used. So yes, I believe that medicating utilizing all of our senses opens you up to all the positive healing benefits of Cannabis. Please let us know how you are doing. |

Rep Power: 480114 | Re: Reiki while medicated? I was just talking about this kind of thing on the way home last night I notice my mindset is what naturally controlls/determines the balance of natural chems in my body & which ones are prevelant at any given time depending on how I feel. If I Medicate with a particular (Indica) strain while stressed out It does'nt always exactly relax me all the time ,depending on how stressed I am. but I noticed if I Med with the exact same strain while feeling unstressed, spiritually, emotionally & Chem. balanced, I feel much more relaxed & is much more enjoyable, pain effective, very consistant & reliable. I first have to put my mind in a peaceful mode/place & prepare for one of the most ultimate bonds you can have. The peace pipe was used to actually become one & show respect for the earth & things that come from the Earth.I feel it is the same with Cannabis. when you take in the smoke I feel I basically have the earth flowing through me & my heart So to me, basically what you are saying does'nt sound crazy at all I'm glad you have found a way to make the most positive use for MMJ for yourself. Good luck with the surgery and positive thoughts for a fast recovery. Last edited by tomo7; 12-14-2008 at 03:00 PM.. Reason: change Phrase |

Rep Power: 52757 | Re: Reiki while medicated? Ive done the Reiki technique before. My teacher taught us a lil about it when i was learning massage therapy. I though it was fairly interesting. Wouldnt mind learning a lil more. There was a time in class where we were using it, we had both hands hovering just over the forehead. For some reason my hands were getting very hot, to the point where it felt like they were burning. The rest of my body though was just fine, cold even. Crazy shit |

Rep Power: 310637 | Re: Reiki while medicated? That's awesome.....I firmly believe that MMJ gives out healing energy. It has been used for thousands of years for everything from medicine to erosion controll and soil enrichment. It's powers go beyond simple intoxication. In fact, I believe the word intoxication isn't appropriate....it implies toxins. I would love to know more about Reiki as I have a distate for western medicine and all of their pills. |

Rep Power: 25508 | Re: Reiki while medicated? "Reiki Level 1 begins with an initiation or attunement process. This process opens you to the Reiki Healing Energy. Once you are attuned to Reiki 1 you can then channel the Reiki Energy (Universal Life Force). When I say channeling I mean bringing this light energy into your physical body and then being able to transfer this energy to others. The energy enters through the crown chakra, it then goes to the heart chakra and then out through your hands, via the palm chakras. What is an initiation/attunement? During the attunement process the Reiki Master helps you open your chakras so that you can receive Reiki and use this energy to heal yourself and others. Reiki Level 1 is the first step. With Reiki 1 you can send healing energy to all living things. You can help others to heal themselves. Reiki to me feels like the ultimate Unconditional Love. It is very powerful. After the attunement things just seem clearer. Through Reiki you can heal on all levels..Mind Body and Emotions. Physical, Emotional and Spiritual. It is a hands on method of healing. You can also heal someone in their aura if they do not wish to be touched." I was granted level 1 several years ago. I have used these techniques on myself and pets with good results. Yes, I have used Reiki while medicated. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Reiki while medicated? In my clinical training as a doctor an Osteopathic manipulation instructor said, "the more I learn the more I realize I don't know shit." This I feel applies here for me because I have been working as a natural pain management doctor for 6 years using direct physical and indirect energetic techniques. One thing that I have noticed is that for subltle and energetic methods to work the mindset and level of relaxation have important effects in the releasing of adhesions or lesions in the body. For some patients this means taking a form of cannabis some time before the treatment. Mental and physical relaxation contribute to the effectiveness of a treatment on some level. Psychoneuroimmunology looks at the interrelatedness of the mind, nervous system, and immune system and new discoveries are being made all the time. So even if certain treatments or ceremony may be working on the mental/emotional plane, at least they are working. One treatment that I recieved in Germany in a spa was in body temperature salt water to remove gravity. Underwater they had dolphin and whale sounds feintly in the background and music arranged by a psychologist playing. The treatment was gentle and like being gently held in the arms of the practitioner who moves as if they are doing underwater tai-chi. In the U. S. it is called Watsu. There are amazing results when people can relax on this level. Anyways, just thought I would put my 2 cents in and connect with people here who are curious about healing. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Reiki while medicated? you are certainly on the right path....pain control can be controled from the mind exclusively. Its not a short journy but its worth the effort. MMJ is a great way to soothe the body and mind to get ready for a deeper level of pain management. Any form of meditation can help your pain and your anxiety. I hope it works post-surgery.:-h |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Reiki while medicated? Don't feel strange.. not at all. I persoanlly am very into energy healing and I've done exactly what you've been doing for 3 years now.. I find that medicating before energy work is much more effective as you said, you can distance yourself from your body I find because there is more concentration.. more relaxation. Always after I feel more refreshed..which confuses some but hey not all people understand the holistic approach. I went completely holistic after I found how pathetic western medication is and I love every technique Ive come across, one of my favs is the Quantum Energetic Biofeedback machine. It blew my mind away still to this day Im amazed at what it did for me. You may call it prayer, the power of Christ, Brahma, Allah, Geitche Manitou, or any other "Ultimate Authority" that you wish, but to me, it is all GOOD energy. Ive been saying this for years hehe glad to find other peopel agree.. hope all goes well with you |

I tink tht whatever works for you is great....I know myself, that I have had to do different things and see what works for me...I feel that mairjuana helps me anyway to be centered more when I do my exercise.....Reki is a good way with getting in touch with the body and mind and I feel marijuana helps relax the body into that.....so, I can hear being medicated while doing Reki, or for that matter, Yoga, meditation, chanting, ect.... Rep Power: 252 | Hey Sir Don! As for reiki goes, I have taken a course and in the process of learning energy healing which is great. Never feel out of place, never be afraid to speak your mind and surrender to the unknown. I think it's great to see other WTs speaking their mind about their spiritual journey which is truly amazing, we are all spiritual beings and I think we should all grasp that concept and create a life worth living. Please post more about your progress and other things you would love to share! Namaste |
