Rep Power: 52 | Hey All, I apologize in advance, but I just needed to share this story in hopes of a better holiday for those involved... (Background info) I work a family that lost their father (husband, uncle, mentor, leader, friend...) last year due to a sudden heart attack and no one got a chance to say goodbye. They almost lost their house trying to do the right thing and pay employees from a bottomed out business that failed because COMPANIES WOULDN'T PAY THEIR BILLS!!! That aside, I helped the daughters, brother, and mother get work to move forward and rebuild. All of them working hours around the clock, no breaks, no days off and they never put their heads down or gave up! (Point) Well after about 2 years of struggling, things were finally looking up until this Friday... Twas the Friday before Christmas and all through the shop, A thief was lurking and scooping things out. He looked in that car, and peeked in another But boy what he found, oh jeez, OH BOTHER! In a little silver truck, so trusting, so pure, He went to go open that unlocked truck door! Open he did and what did he find? A purse full of cash and jewelry inside! He looked up at her, she looked back at him... She looked back once more, but he vanished like air! Gone was her purse, her money, her jewels... He'd stolen all she had from her, she was such a fool! This wife, this mother, this woman who should be retired had too much trust for this world to hold. Like a dope she left her truck unlocked, her purse on the seat and this person took it. Her passed husband's wedding rings and all! Her check she worked extra double hard for X-Mas for her family. Everything was gone that so many pulled together to help with! She now trusts no more and I think that's the saddest part of all...but she still hasn't given up! Nor should you! This story isn't for angry reactions or to remind her how we're in the 20th century and shouldn't be stupid and trusting...because enough of us already did that. It's to remind you that someone out there has always had a worse day... Just when you're feeling that bad day come on to the fullest like you can't go on, remember to pray for someone else because I'll bet they are having a worse one... Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas or nothing if you don't believe in anything but here's hoping someone out there is having better luck because this 2007 hasn't been so great. Peace DP~ |
