Rep Power: 1671 | The Ten Commandments Exodus 20:2–17 Deuteronomy 5:6–21 Exodus 34:11–27 2 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; 3 Do not have any other gods before me. 4 You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me, 6 but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments. 7 You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not acquit anyone who misuses his name. 8 Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy. 9 For six days you shall labour and do all your work. 10 But the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work—you, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the alien resident in your towns. 11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but rested the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and consecrated it. 12 Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. 13 You shall not murder. 14 You shall not commit adultery. 15 You shall not steal. 16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. 17 You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor. 6 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; 7 you shall have no other gods before me. 8 You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 9 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and fourth generation of those who reject me, 10 but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments. 11 You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not acquit anyone who misuses his name. 12 Observe the sabbath day and keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you. 13 For six days you shall labour and do all your work. 14 But the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work—you, or your son or your daughter, or your male or female slave, or your ox or your donkey, or any of your livestock, or the resident alien in your towns, so that your male and female slave may rest as well as you. 15 Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the sabbath day. 16 Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God commanded you, so that your days may be long and that it may go well with you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. 17 You shall not murder. 18 Neither shall you commit adultery. 19 Neither shall you steal. 20 Neither shall you bear false witness against your neighbor. 21 Neither shall you covet your neighbor’s wife. Neither shall you desire your neighbor’s house, or field, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor. 11 Observe what I command you today. See, I will drive out before you the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. 12 Take care not to make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land to which you are going, or it will become a snare among you. 13 You shall tear down their altars, break their pillars, and cut down their sacred poles 14 (for you shall worship no other god, because the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God). 15 You shall not make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, for when they prostitute themselves to their gods and sacrifice to their gods, someone among them will invite you, and you will eat of the sacrifice. 16 And you will take wives from among their daughters for your sons, and their daughters who prostitute themselves to their gods will make your sons also prostitute themselves to their gods. 17 You shall not make cast idols. 18 You shall keep the festival of unleavened bread. For seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month of Abib; for in the month of Abib you came out from Egypt. 19 All that first opens the womb is mine, all your male livestock, the firstborn of cow and sheep. 20 The firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb, or if you will not redeem it you shall break its neck. All the firstborn of your sons you shall redeem. No one shall appear before me empty-handed. 21 For six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even in ploughing time and in harvest time you shall rest. 22 You shall observe the festival of weeks, the first fruits of wheat harvest, and the festival of ingathering at the turn of the year. 23 Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord God, the God of Israel. 24 For I will cast out nations before you, and enlarge your borders; no one shall covet your land when you go up to appear before the Lord your God three times in the year. 25 You shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven, and the sacrifice of the festival of the passover shall not be left until the morning. 26 The best of the first fruits of your ground you shall bring to the house of the Lord your God. You shall not boil a kid in its mother’s milk. 27 The Lord said to Moses: Write these words; in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel. |

NEXT TIME SPEAK TO BE HEARD. I AM NOT AGAINST FREE WILL. WE ARE FREE TO DO WHAT WE WANT. BUT ARE PRISONERS TO THE CONSIQUENCES WE FACE |

Rep Power: 145810 | Re: 10 rules to live by! If you are to believe the Bible, under the New Testament, there is one law: Treat others as you yourself wish to be treated. At all times, and in all things. ....that is a very open ended law. Why complicate things more by adding other, older laws, that according to Christ no longer apply? This is a real question by the way, no sarcasm or other implications. It has always flabbergasted me as to why people need to complicate and add to things that really don't need complications....life in general would be a good example of this....if anybody can help me to understand this primal need to complicate matters I would appreciate it. but heres my big question. WHY WOULD YOU BRUTALLY SMASH DOWN SOMEONES BELEIFS, WHEN WHETHER OR NOT ITS TRUE IT IS MAKING THEM LIVE HONEST AND DECENT AND A BETTER PERSON.... for all you know religon could have saved this mans life katzore. but instead youd rather tell him hes full of shit and the earth is gonna explode i know for me personally even tho i dont beleive in the bible, thinking there might be some purpose to this all, and a force behind it that we cant understand helps me get up everyday and want to live and make the world a better place... why would you want to take that from me? And btw, Giant asteroids have in fact hit earth and caused a genocide of all living things. At least started the chain reaction which killed off the survivors (I.E. poisonous gasses and elevated temperatures). I feel sorry if you took me literally when i said destroyed. Excuse me, "destroys all forms of life." And after that happens, what does "god" do? i'm curious. And if you think i'm pushing this onto you, well look at what you guys are doing and saying. You can share your beliefs and tell me i'm going to your own imaginary place of eternal damnation but i can't say i don't believe in that stuff?... KAY! And to anyone questioning evolution.... How about cannabis!!!! It has in fact gotten stronger within the past 100 years!!! what is that? EVOLUTION! Yes it was by the hand of humans and cannabis was directly affected. That is in fact evolution. It has changed overtime with correlation to its environment. I.E. indoor grows. Indoor strains thrive when grown indoor..something the plant evolved to do. jeewiz this is fun.

Personally, I think negative rep is a tad silly, so I don't do hand it out. If I have a problem with something someone said, I'd much rather deal with it publicly. But that's just me and this post is off topic as it is.

please read the whole post before responding. i mean no harm katzore, despite our differences. Katzore. I mean this with all the respect you deserve, and as little disrespect as possible, but what you are doing is not just sharing your beleifs. if you were simply sharing your beleifs you would have posted something more along the lines of "thanks for posting those even tho i dont agree" or even "i dont like this thread because i dont believe what is said in it because i beleive in evolution and not god" (which by the way i beleive in both a higher power AND evolution and i think the two fall hand in hand so you are seemingly stereotyping people who beleive in a god) would be far closer to "sharing your beleifs" than what you are doing. Saying there is no god and jesus is a crazy person and implying people who beleive in a higher power are idiots is NOT sharing your beleifs, and is extremely disrespectful. You are bashing other peoples strongly held beleifs and i do not know why. i dont care why. i do care however about your repeated bashing posts saying there is no god and implying were all crazy idiots. Your perfectly welcome to think whatever you want and hold whatever beleifs you want, but when you share beleifs you should be passing them on as beleifs, not facts. for example. "I do not beleive there is a god" as opposed to "there is no god". by saying "there is no god" on a forum flocked with ill people seeking alternative solutions you are asking for a heated argument and it almost makes it seem like you are trying to offend people. I can only hope and pray katzore that you never have to not hit a rock bottom, fall on extremly hard times with illness or loss, have a near death expierience, or any other trauma or tradgedy. but some of us havnt been so fortunute, and for some of us not fortunate, regardless of whether you agree with it or not religon/spirituality and/or beleiving there is a purpose behind it all may be the only thing giving some people the motivation to get up, keep going, and live the best they can everyday. tho i know not every religous/spiritual person has been through troubles and not every person who has been through troubles is religous/spiritual, my point is that some people hold these kinds of beleifs to be VERY important. why are you trying to stop that? you might as well start taking peoples medicine from them too. katzore please. i ask you this as a fellow human being and member of community earth, if you have any respect for your fellow man, you will edit your posts that do nothing more than attempt to crush peoples beleifs that in some cases have saved lives. and stop posting posts bashing important beleifs. BUT, please feel free to edit those post as so they express your beleifs...just do it in a way that will still respect the people who dont think like you do. If you would like to have a rational mature debate about the origins of life i would be more than happy to discuss your points and share mine, im sure we could learn alot from eachother, as long as were willing. however WT is not the place for that discussion. mabye someday by chance we will meet at a lounge, until then. i think we should just sink this discussion here and now. now heres a tune we can all vibe too! but seriously. incredible bob marley preformance! . and dont forget about deathcab something to tap your feet to while you forget this thread even existed Last edited by jd123; 08-25-2009 at 02:53 AM..
