Protest support needed at Chula Vista (in SD County)

A friend and I are attempting to open a cooperative in Chula Vista. The city attorney has been telling us for over three weeks they're going to deny our business license, but as we know they don't have a lawful reason to do it. Instead they're trying to institute a moratorium, like in Escondido, to "study the issue." Clearly they're been disingenuous, when they've had almost a month to do just that. Instead they've had a city attorney assigned to us for three weeks trying to create a reason to deny us. We've also been lied to and delayed multiple times by a representative at the city attorney's office. She even went so far as to tell me we wouldn't know the language of the moratorium until the day of the meeting. Fortunately a reporter told me that has to be available 72 hours beforehand.

We need everyone's help on Tuesday, July 21st at 4pm (changed from 6pm), at city hall in Chula Vista, on 4th and F. The city council will be discussing the moratorium. We need to make it clear to them a moratorium isn't the answer and that if it is instituted, they will be doing it based on personal bias NOT on facts. If you believe that safe access to medical marijuana should be available county wide, please come down and support us. If you're interested in speaking, you'll need to get a speaker's card from the city clerk's desk. Thank you for any support that can be offered. Oh and if you would like to read more about it, here's an article http://www.sandiegoreader.com/news/2...6/smokescreen/. We've also been told the Union Tribune is going to publish our story on the front page on Saturday. We'll see how that goes.

Re: Protest support needed at Chula Vista (in SD County)

Hey don't you know that the head of the San Diego county board of supervisor was the mayor of Chula Vista back in the late 90's and early 2000's and now Bill Horn's wife is the current mayor.

So what happened at the meeting? Sorry I haven't logged in a while and missed it by one day.
