Rep Power: 4382 | Open letter to LAPD - we know you are here. Isn't it ironic that on the same day that the feds raided La Familia all over the country, you guys are actively shutting down MMJ collectives across southern California. Here is the thing: People who either ingest cannabis for medical reasons or recreationally won't stop just because you closed their legal avenues of supply. No, we will just purchase from the underground dealer. I don't want to even hear how we are supporting terrorism or feeding mexican warlords. This is your fault. I don't need to know, or even care what these people do with my money. It seems to me that by patronizing dispensaries, there is AT LEAST the chance that taxes are being paid and the money stays here in the states. But it looks like you've made your choice. If and when the street gangs become even more powerful don't scratch your bald heads and wonder what happened. It's simple economics and free will. Given that a person has the will and means to obtain what they want, they will. You aren't going to change that. You are just going to change the venue for the worse. Congratulations. |

Just reading Weedtracker is enough evidence that over-the-counter sales are indeed being made. That means the cops did not need to break down NNCC's door or send in "undercovers" to purchase MMJ. We are all doing this because it is LEGAL, and we are hiding nothing. |

Rep Power: 364050 | Re: Open letter to LAPD - we know you are here. it's an outright shame..Tax dollars at work..go bust the gangs who shoot babies in the streets..Go bust the crack heads and heroin pushers. Go crack on the countless murders that go unnoticed..Leave the sick alone and stop tormenting us. You are making things worse by what you are doing. You are trying to scare us...you will scare everyone back to the streets and things will get much worse. |

Rep Power: 4382 | Re: Open letter to LAPD - we know you are here. I am not holding my breath waiting for someone from LAPD to respond, after all that takes balls unlike smashing down the front door of a peaceful business establishment. I am not in the habit of "calling out" cops, but that just might change. I've always viewed LAPD with a benign eye - after all, I am not a criminal. Why should I fear them? They are on my side! But for some reason, that image of NNCC's front door smashed in FOR NO REASON other than for dramatic purposes is what makes me the maddest. It's one thing to come inside and peacefully shut the place down and quite another to use a freaking battering ram on the front door. I think they did this for no other reason that to "show" passers by that "this place is up to no good." They destroyed private property. Then they just leave, leaving the front open for anyone to come in and help themselves to the fish tank, or a laptop. Reminds me of one of my favorite Clash songs Guns of Brixton: When they kick out your front door How you gonna go come? With your hands on your head Or on the trigger of your gun? Maybe it's just me. I'm crazy like that. |

Rep Power: 10261 | Re: Open letter to LAPD - we know you are here. Meth labs are harder to find, they have to do all that work investigating and collecting evidence, then they have to (hopefully) follow all those pesky laws and present ACTUAL EVIDENCE to a judge to get a warrant, then coordinate with a tactical team, who trains 80% of the time, they don't skip it to go on a raid, soooooo good luck even getting in the door before the shit is all cooked up and on the streets and the cooker moved on. That's a lot of actual work. MMJ people are putting signs on the door and ads in papers, low hanging fruit. |

Rep Power: 11372 | Re: Open letter to LAPD - we know you are here. It is the same reason they go after prostitutes, they won't get shot by them or the john, but they will get shot by the gang banger on the street. I agree they shouldn't have joined the force but the truth is, a lot of cops are bullies, and most bullies are cowards. I do respect the cop on the street that is risking his life protecting us, and there are alot out there. just not these ones that are on some power trip. |

Like pointed out above this just makes street gangs more powerful. Were not putting people at danger, were not taking a harmful substance, were not contributing to crime. We want a safe functioning society, as you do. Surely we can settle this without guns, we dont have any. Just a voice that will change this world. |

Rep Power: 13655 | Re: Open letter to LAPD - we know you are here. I know of Many sick cancer patients that got there meds from NNCC... For the LAPD to break through those doors of unmeasured compassion and stop them from being able to be there for those who depend on this collective to bring them the finest of medicine at a low affordable donation is just absurd. I've heard of cops doing dumb things but i don't understand how they thought to legitimize doing something like this just hours after the president said such thing would not happen, he told us that you guys wont waist OUUUUURRRRR tax money!!!! We all deserve an apology from you. You guys should buy NNCC a new gate and stop bullying a collective that is only there to provide safe access for truely sick people to purchase medicine. NNCC has the best security staff I have ever seen. I never used to feel worried about going in there.. They had multiple security gaurds making sure all patients are safe. But i Guess that goes to show you that we have to expect something like this at all collective, no matter how safe or compassionate. I think you guys gave the drug dealers on the street a big advantage with this move, This was a big push back from what we have come from |

If they could see people run out back, then there was no need to worry, they already had them, right? I agree with someone else who said it was just the dramatic effect. I live down the street, and I for one, hesitated when I saw the glass and the door OPEN. I saw a couple of people with guns couldn't see a badge though, so yeah, that would scare me considering it wasn't what but a month ago that a place got robbed right down the street and someone was shot I believe. | |

Rep Power: 12737 | Re: Open letter to LAPD - we know you are here. I have an idea for LA. Here in Beaumont, they don't want the two shops that are here! But they are using a very different tactic and it is benefiting all involved. They are not busting the shops but fining them 1000.00 a day for operating without a license! That has generated 365000K a year in revenue for Beaumont. I am sure that has helped balance an already fat budget! Think about it LA 1000K a day x(s) how many coops that are operating outside the law x(s) 365 days a year!!!!! Think of it, no more forced furloughs for county and city workers, there will be job openings for several people to just go around and give the tickets, the police will be available for someone who really needs them. My point is not get more money from coops but that there are other solutions that are less distructive and financially less costly for the county! |
