LOL I love the Fox explanations of the two recent attempts to distort the "news". They want people to believe the mistakes were inadvertant, when in fact they involved editing and splicing footage. Kinda hard to splice in footage by "accident".

Splicing in the video age is not in practice anymore. BB you are dating yourself here, besides what is so detrimental to our lives showing tape of a large turnout? In what way does this affect public policy? It's very possible that the wrong tape was played depending on how it was labeled. OK they made a mistake, they apologized. They used a tape of a large crowd scene whether purposely or not. I don't see that as egregious as the White House padding and misrepresenting their numbers in regards to the economy and the stimulus package that "created" jobs. Funny but if you read that artcle to the very end, I find it interesting that you did not comment on this:

This petty bickering only keeps us divided, not united. One last thought. Although the extreme right gets the headlines (could that be because it makes for good entertainment?) there are plenty of "right wingers" that see this as merely hyperbole and it does not represent all conservatives. Try tuning out Rush and not be manipulated by the media and then maybe those goggles will be able to see with some impartiality.

That's funny. Last night my mother-in-law was really upset because she's starting to figure out that MSNBC is playing games similar to what Faux News does. I like Olberman a lot, but he's an entertainer, not a news anchor.

Anybody ever read Neil Postman? Wow. That dude was totally onto something. In his book, "Amusing ourselves to death," he states that television is at its worst when it tries to be informative. According to him, news programs are more dangerous to society than reality tv shows and the like because at least those aren't meant to taken seriously. I highly recommend Postman. Good stuff.

Hey Juan, be carefull, when I date myself I am still a tad younger than you are, always will be LOL. Fox was most certainly intentionaly trying to inflate those crowds in those segments, so the apologies were amusing to me. Kinda like saying we are incompetant so it's OK. But you are right Juan, it's no big deal, it just reflects poorly. MSNBC has their moments of ridiculous bias, but way less IMHO than Fox. Showing that Palin picture was grossly incompetant because anyone who watches the news knew this was long ago proven to be a fraud. I was shocked they were stupid enough to show that. MSNBC also has Morning Joe on, and he is a former Republican congressman who is conservative. I like that show alot. I appreciate moderate and fiscal Republicans, they are the only ones willing to debate. Sorry Juan, I enjoy Rush, Hannity, and Levin too much to stop listening, they are a hoot!

Wednesday's incident occurred when Fox News host Gregg Jarrett mentioned that a Sarah Palin appearance and book signing in Grand Rapids, Michigan had a massive turnout. As footage rolled of a smiling and waving Palin amidst a throng of fans, Jarrett noted that the former Republican vice-presidential candidate is "continuing to draw huge crowds while she's promoting her brand-new book,'' adding that the images being shown were "some of the pictures just coming in to us.... The lines earlier had formed this morning."

However, the video used in the segment was from a 2008 McCain/Palin campaign rally. In response to the minor uproar that arose after clips of Jarrett's report hit the Internet, Fox senior vice-president of news Michael Clemente issued an initial statement saying, "This was a production error in which the copy editor changed a script and didn't alert the control room to update the video."

Sort of seems like Fox is going out of it's way to promote Palin.

Still, Fox is Big Brother TV and I believe that whatever it says now is and always has been the complete truth. Oceania has always been at war with Europa.
