An interested voter is an educated voter, an educated voter isn't as easily effected by a politicians lie. Most voters don't pay attention to politics until an election comes around. For many, they never do much research other than listening or watching campaign advertisements instead of digging for the real truth.

If you are hoodwinked into voting for a president that has strong views against your own, that is nobody's fault but your own for not doing enough research on that candidate before casting your vote. Taking responsibility for your own bad vote isn't always going to be easy, but it's a requirement if you expect to make better choices in the future.

With all due respect Nailhead, you make it sound as if we're dealing with honest politicians here! How many times have the voters been misled, only to find out after it's too late! More times than I care to count.
