Rep Power: 113121 | Re: MegWhitman ~ pro/con MMJ ... ?!? Dude she's a Republican. While not all Republicans are anti-MMJ, 99.999999999999% of Republican politicians are. Personally, I'm diggin' Gavin Newsom. He seems all right to me and he's definitely on our side! |

Honestly, I can't see myself ever voting for a Republican, so it's not like she's lost my vote or anything. But it's still nice to have some ammo to work with!

here is a another quote Former eBay chief executive Meg Whitman, another powerful Republican contender, flat out opposes legalizing pot. "I am absolutely against legalizing marijuana for any reason. We have enough challenges in our society without heading down the path of drug legalization," she said. idk what to say other than no meg whitman does not support legalizing marijuana. heres more junk What gubernatorial candidates have said about pot policy Meg Whitman: “I am absolutely against legalizing marijuana for any reason. We have enough challenges in our society without heading down the path of drug legalization.” Gavin Newsom, whose campaign spokesman says he opposes legalization: “I welcome an open dialogue in California on the relative merits of legalization of cannabis. … While marijuana has positive medicinal properties, it also has adverse effects.” Attorney General Jerry Brown: “If the whole society starts getting stoned, we’re going to be even less competitive. And we’re going to have more broken families and more angry husbands and wives.” Former Rep. Tom Campbell: “The principal (Mexican) distributors of marijuana are also dominant forces in meth. If you legalize the one, you run the risk of creating a distribution mechanism for the other.” Jarrod Agen, spokesman for Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner: “The idea of legalizing drugs is one more bad idea from a bygone era. Nor can California smoke its way out of the structural budget deficit.” Source: San Francisco Chronicle (CA) Author: Bob Egelko, Chronicle Staff Writer Contact: letters@sfchronicle.com Website: http://www.sfgate.com/chronicle/ Last edited by contract.dude; 09-23-2009 at 11:34 AM..

Rep Power: 113121 | Re: MegWhitman ~ pro/con MMJ ... ?!? That's why I luvs me some Gavin Newsom! He's been the most outspoken supporter of marijuana I've ever seen in a viable major party candidate. I saw him on Real Time with Bill Maher back in April I believe and he spoke candidly about his support for marijuana legalization via AB 390. Gavin Newsom= To Medpatient- What issue is that you diagree with him on? I'm interested. I like to learn as much as I can about candidate prior to voting for him/her. Call me crazy! |

Rep Power: 113121 | Re: MegWhitman ~ pro/con MMJ ... ?!? Exactly! It's not that Republican politicians have a monopoly on bullshit, because they most certainly do not. But Ca Republicans know that they've at least gotta pay lip service to MMJ. And once in office, their actions tend to contradict their words. |

Rep Power: 113121 | Re: MegWhitman ~ pro/con MMJ ... ?!? Um, from what I understand, Jerry's taken some time to get on board with MMJ, just like it took him a while to get used to gay marriage. People are allowed to change their minds IMO. |
