Rep Power: 19058 | Re: Fed ~ NativeAmerican HealthCare ... The fed is no good. They have been treating Nican Tlacans this way since the fed was made. And they(fed) still treats native people like trash. What i usually get in response is -casinos.I lol and say they only just got to build these casinos about 15 years ago.So compare that to 500 years of debt, rape, and death.I mean look it,these governments bastards dont even care about there own veterans..All native peoples around the world from Hawiians,Aboriginese,to samoans have been colonized by foriegn countries and turned into modernday slaves to the corporations of earth. Now a days i see its not about black, white, red or brown. Its about poor people and rich people. |

Rep Power: 13561 | Re: Fed ~ NativeAmerican HealthCare ... i went to a school in northern arizona for 3 1/2 years. one of my teachers/ mentors had worked on the navajo reservation for like 13 years or something. anyway he used to always take us on trips to meet his old students and see the reservation and learn about the navajo people. that reservation is the most beautiful place in the u.s IMO and i only got to see about 1/4 of it. i cant wait to go back there but anyway i learned alot of horrible things. did you know the U.S. government used to dump there radioactive waste on the reservation? in certain parts of the reservation the life expectincy is significantly lower because cancer is so prevalant in anyone living on that part of the reservation for an extended period of time... its fucking horrible :crying: and casinos dont mean shit, especially considering that some reservations dont even have one. i.e. the navajo nation and hopi tribe (not sure if hopi has casinos but i was told navajo nations does not), they are still greatly mistreated by our government today. http://jackcentral.com/news/2008/09/...-water-supply/ Last edited by jd123; 06-16-2009 at 11:28 AM.. |

Rep Power: 42366 | Re: Fed ~ NativeAmerican HealthCare ... Havasupai is one of the nicest places that I have ever been, and the story there is much the same as on all reservations: people living in abject poverty, high cancer rates because of the uranium that has been mined and left to run off into the local watershed. I think that the native peoples need to band together and take care of thier own since the government has never seemed to care about native people. Casinos equal money for some tribes, but also give the public an overly positive view of native american life. The average person doesn't see the poverty and other problems, they only see the slot machines and therefore don't want to help. |

Poor is a state of mind that is the necessary mass idea which is the seed of the IDEA OF GOVERNMENT. I found this concept made plain in a book I am reading called; EQUITABLE COMMERCE: A NEW DEVELOPMENT OF PRINCIPLES, for the HARMONIOUS ADJUSTMENT and REGULATION of the PECUNIARY, INTELLECTUAL, and MORAL INTERCOURSE of MANKIND, proposed as ELEMENTS OF NEW SOCIETY by Josiah Warren 1849. I don't know if that is on the same page theoretically, just throwing out relevant ideas! Love all! | |
