Rep Power: 59 | Need help!!! Hello Fellow WT's: I found a grey cat, I believe she's around 2 years old, very pretty with long fur, very friendly, but definitely a cat that cannot share her humans. My neighbor to whom it belong to, left the country, simply abandoning the cat. I have been feeding it for the past 3 weeks now and even brought it my apt, however, she keeps fighting with my other cats. I dont know what to do with her, looking for possible animal shelters or adoption places but dont want her to just become another pound pet....please any suggestions would be very appreciated..... |

Territorial issues are natural and *may* sort themselves out after a few days, but there are exceptions. We have an old cat and I had to do the same with a kitten that was roaming the neighborhood because the older and well established male we still have would not return home as long as the new rescued kitten was in the house... Thank you for being a kind soul and for doing the correct act of kindness.

AMAC, It's great to see someone go out of their way as much as you've done already, unfortunately my only suggestion would be to put a notice in any newspapers that have a pets category in the classifieds section like the LA Times, OC Register, Pennysaver... It might be a lot more hassle than the shelter, but at least you'll get to decide the new owner, goodluck! |

Just google it and add your zip code. They can advise you on how to find a new home for it. And if needed, can take the cat for you. Bless you, three weeks of fighting must have been a challenge for you and your other furkids. . |

Good Luck AMAK- you are doing something that some would'nt bother with & it is admirable to see another human who cares like YOU!! |

We just moved and 4 cats were involved. Ages 7, 3.5, and the grandkittehs 1.5. The pecking order still is not final after 6 weeks. Its a work in progress. Perhaps a separate area of its own? Good luck...

Rep Power: 59 | Re: Need help!!! Thanks everybody for the help you have given!!! I posted a ad on craigslist, and I got a lot of good advice from passionate cat owners on how to relieve the fighting. Most of them suggested isolating them (which I HAVE to do anyway because my cats wont go anywhere NEAR the rescued cat). I researched many options, found out the cat is a Mane Coon...very pretty!! She has a chip also, I just wish I knew her name. I call her "KiKi" . A no-kill shelter I called was full to capacity (most are nowadays), but the nice lady suggested I take a few photos and place her up for adoption via internet (petfinder.com). In the meantime, havoc and mayhem reigns anytime my cats even CROSS paths with the rescued cat. Its a shame because whenever we separate them, and hog her all to ourselves, she is amazing, most adorable cat you ever seen!!:sbounce: *sigh* |
