Thanks to 2 wonderful fellow WT'rs, all the details have been worked out and we have our chocolate lab puppy.

Now we need to name her. Anyone want to help? Here are the rules:

The name must be related to or from any of J.R.R. Tolkien's works (Hobbit, LOTR or Silmarillion). For instance, our oldest dog is Luthien shortened to LuLu, and the boy dog is Earandil (Ernie).

So bring them on!!!

I know this doesn't go along with your theme, but I think you should name her Sissy.

It will be interesting to see what names are posted.

Smothering her with hugs and kisses through cyber space.

Beautiful family, she is one very lucky little girl.

Galadriel
As you recall:
Galadriel was the youngest of the five children of Finarfin and Eärwen, and so was born into the noblest house of the Noldor in Aman during the blissful Years of the Trees. At her birth, her father Finarfin gave her the name Artanis, 'noble woman'.

As Galadriel grew, she began to compete with others of the Eldar in feats of both mind and strength. Because of her stature and her strength of will, her mother Eärwen gave her another name, Nerwen, meaning 'man-maiden'. Ultimately, though, she was not known by either of the names given by her parents. Instead, from her shimmering golden-silver hair, she acquired the name Alatáriel, meaning 'crowned with a radiant garland', which would one day be translated into 'Galadriel'. According to some, this name came about especially from her habit of tying her hair into a garland around her head during competitions with others.

A saying grew up among the Eldar that the gold and silver of Galadriel's hair had trapped the gold and silver light of the Two Trees, and according to legend this was how Fëanor first conceived the idea of somehow capturing that light himself. If this is true, then Galadriel's radiant garland was the ultimate inspiration for the making of the Silmarils. Fëanor, it is said, begged Galadriel for a tress of her hair, but she refused him1, and so enmity began to grow between the two greatest of all the Eldar.

When Melkor descended on Valinor and destroyed the Two Trees, Fëanor rebelled against the Valar and led a great part of the Noldor out of Aman and back to Middle-earth. Galadriel's actions and intentions at this time are a little unclear. Though she was an enemy of Fëanor, it seems that she was nonetheless persuaded to travel to Middle-earth with the others of her kin. Ultimately, her father Finarfin abandoned that march, but Galadriel and her brothers continued into the far north, where they crossed the Helcaraxë and came to the cold northern shores of the Hither Lands.

How's Puppy today?

You are an awesome responsible pet owner that sits a wonderful example to those taking on the responsibilities of a pet.

I'm sure she is the hit of your office by now and so glad to be with her new Daddy all day.

When I die, I want to come back as a pet in the "Otto" family.

You are doing it right.

I am so proud of you.

Well it's settled!!

Our new puppy will be called 'Rosie Cotton" (after Sam Gamgee's wife).

Or rosebud, rosario, and "get out of the flowers". Ok the last one is reserved for all 3 dogs but I think Rosie will get a little more use out of it :D

Thank You all for love and support but I am sad to say we might have to give Rosie back.

Her and I were watching the Ducks game last night and the Ducks lost. SHe might be bad luck. She didn't watch any of sundays game and we won.

I think she might have been brain washed into a kings fan (oh fate worse then death) or even worse, a sharks fan (that is even worse then a kings fan).

If we lose tomorrow night - Then she's goin' back or never watching hockey again.

And of course I jest. So far she has been absolutly wonderful. No seperation issues ('cept maybe for a certain WT'r). She is integrating into the household very well for her age. And she is just so damn cute.

I will get some more pics soon.
