So Rix, Shelly and I have been talking about how much we love African and South American Cichlids. Unfortunately we were doing it in the wrong thread. So here it is, the AMAZING TROPICAL FISH THREAD.
We know you have em, we know you want to talk about them and post pics of your tank(s).
Got an Oscar, angel fish, salt water tank, invertebrates? Post those fish stories and photos right here, this is the spot to get "fishy".

I haven't had tanks in 15 years or more.

....when I did, they were mostly filled with Discus, Rams, and a nice Arowana (sp). I would try to throw a few Neons or Cardinals in the tank but that Arowana loved them too.

There are so many beautiful types of Discus ... absolutely beautiful fish.

Cichlids. were a bit to aggressive for the tanks I kept and Oscars were out of the question. I never understood the intrigued with Oscars I mean, they are butt ugly and havd an attitute and big mouth that eats every fish that fits in it....

Never ventured into Saltwater tanks.... Love the fish but just never did it.

TUS is beginning to show the effects of massive quantities of WT.

Arrowanna's are really not hard to keep.

I fed mine, WTF did I feed them......, either raw beef heart, or just shrimp.....Honestly I can't remember what the hell they ate.... but they are so prehistoric looking and get real big depending on the size tank they are in.

There are several types of Arrowanna's also, you got cha regular, your black and????... usually the difference is visible in the coloring of the tips of fins. I don't think that the body changes much color, usually is Silverish.

Nice I have had many fish tanks over the years..My favorite is my salt water tanks..I have a 125 gallon and a 180 gallon..I just put the 180 gallon in the co-op and the 125 is coming soon for the lobby..I will show you what it looked like when it was a reef tank very beautiful...much love..

I dont personally own a tank but i find them to be absolutely beautiful
I have a few friends who have tanks and I honestly could not tell you what fish were in it or anything hahaha i just think they are freaking amazing to look at lol

OK I admit it - I have been overdosing on WT. I tell my wife I have to go to the bathroom and I RUN to the computer to read - just one more post. I skip work to hang here on WT. I sneak my laptop out to my car and log onto my neighbor's unsecured wireless connection. My wife wanted to have sex but I couldn't drag myself away from the screen! I've even stopped correcting my spelling errors!
Massive quantities hell! I just want a plug in my head with a chip that gives me a direct feed from WT.

I have never heard of a Red one till today. I bet it's new since I was into fish. I really think that picture of the Black A is deceiving because the body is very much similar in color to the Silver.
