So I was wandering, since I dont own a bird if people had done this. I had a coworker come up to me yesterday laughing cause she said this weekend her and her husband went to a pet store by their house and the guy had a bin full of marijuana seeds and was selling them as bird food.

From what she was telling me, she said that the worker told her that they are really good for birds as they are filled with vitamins, but that if her bird started to act a little funny after eating the seeds to just cut back a little on how many seeds she gives him.

Many years ago, my Dad and I were at the bird farm buying supplies for his Aviaries and he showed me a 50lb sack of Hemp seed they had for sale.

Lots of bird food has sterilized hemp seed in the mix. For a science experiment when I was about 9, I put some bird seed on a wet sponge to see which seeds would germinate. My dad pointed out that the seeds that didn't germinate were the sterilized hemp seeds.

My Mum told me about it longtime ago. They blast it for consumption and hemp doesn't have the psychoactive cannabinoids that Cannabis does but who knows. They sure seem to like it alot.

that is so weird. Ok so just I am on the same page, it is hemp seeds and not the normal cannabis seeds that we think of.

That is what I was trippin on for a minute, cause I was like wait, how do they get away with selling cannabis seeds in a pet store.

if though doubts my word look at my avatar and the face of my personal barber(bloodletter).booboo willeat budseed,sterilized hemp seed,mj leaves,buds,and yes my clones are an attractive nuisance to them as well.my female angel has flown down stole bud from me then fly off with me in hot pursuit depending on how much i had left.she has even flown down and taken a smoking joint to eat.
and no they are happy healthy,and prone to bite intruders or scream like hell.
sleeping in is something other people do,midday naps like the birds are my schedule yawn.

Yes, it's Hemp seeds, sterilized, and VERY good for your birds. They are FULL of oil and most love them. Even the bigger parrots I have will crack open the Hemp seeds. All 9 of mine love them. No, they don't act silly after.
