Rep Power: 327910 | Today Is 1 Year Of No Tobacco Smoking Yes one year ago today my daughter asked me to quit smoking cigarettes. Yes i did quit my lungs feel alot better, my kids are happier and the only thing that sucks is that when i quit i found out that i had a cancerous brain tumor and that i also gained alot of weight which sucks. I thank god for mmj because it makes my days alot better with all the pain etc. I hope that you all quit smoking cigarettes because having cancer is not worth it at all and you will feel much healthier. Its really not worth smoking cigarettes with the risks involved. Everybody have a wonderful night. |

I can admit I can smell and taste better. But, 30 years did me in with COPD, now my O2 concentrator has become my friend or my fiend which I am unsure. |

Rep Power: 21 | Re: Today Is 1 Year Of No Tobacco Smoking congrats i quit 3 yrs ago jan 1st myself.. but i do find myself smoking more meds! and i seen on the news the otherday that 1 joint is equal to 20 cigs (i smoke about 6-8 a day), which i heard growing up but now was confirmed and they said from sum SCHOOL in new zealand i think it was and that lung cancer is a higher risk in marijuana smokers, made me wonder if this is just BS or FACT and if 1 joint is 20 cigs what is a few 4-6 bowls thru a bong or vape? better obviously but still gotta be bad, IM CURIOUS AN WORRIED at the same time!! SORRY FOR RAMBLING OFF ON THAT ONE!! |

Good Morning !!!! The part about mmj causing cancer must be bs as my cancer doctor tells me to smoke marijuana, and that it does not cause cancer. But he states it helps many patients, as it slows the growth of cancer and reduces size of tumors!!!!!! So i tend to believe my doctor over our goverment!!!! :slaugh: Thank You to all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last edited by wallawalla; 02-05-2008 at 06:14 AM.. Reason: wording

Rep Power: 53 | Re: Today Is 1 Year Of No Tobacco Smoking Way to go ALL who FIRED their tobacco companies!! I'm going on almost a month now and haven't looked back! It's weird but after the first few days of frenzy it's gotten much easier. Even for someone with OCD!! I never thought I could quit because of the oral fixation and repetitive behavior associated with smoking... you know fly to honey is like cigs to OCD patient! LOL All it took was one day I tried to catch my breath and couldn't. When I finally did I sounded like I swallowed a Kazoo!! I threw my cigs away and haven't lit up since, nor do I ever intend to again! And congrats on all of you who are battling the same demon... Strong will power will succeed!! Peace DP~ |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Today Is 1 Year Of No Tobacco Smoking I have as well!!!!! I have quit using ciggarttes now for the last going on I believe 2 years....maybe 3....damn I forgot....but I did it alll in the shadows of MMJ. Literally It was the easiest time quitting I have had yet....what I mean is it took me about 5 trys, and they were ALL horrible...I tried EVERYTHING....TV stuff.....STORE bought stuff....Guaranteed TV.....nothing worked.....Finally a light came on....and after smoking since I was 12 and worked my way to 2 packs of ciggarettes a day, I decided to finally quit because I was so sick of hearing complaining from EVERYONE. My first step was buying a hallf ounce and everytime I felt that horrible craving....LoL....I toked a bowl....and It made me forget about everything, satisfied that hunger in my lungs, especially when I get coughers......anyways I have been cig free, and I just realized it...LoL....those things are the worst addiction on this planet....and of all things besides alcohol should be illegal. Anyways just my opinion! |

Rep Power: 2972 | Re: Today Is 1 Year Of No Tobacco Smoking My most sincere congratulations to you Wallawalla, and everyone else who's been cig-free. The tobacco plant took my father- he quit cold turkey when i was born, but the crap in his lungs caught up with him 12 years later in the form of a tumor. I know that sounds depressing for someone who just quit- the fact that after all your hard work quitting that shit can still come around and bite you in the ass... Walla, remember never to give up hope. You are facing a hurdle that needs to be jumped, and its a big jump but its doable. In my experience, those who retain the most hope for life and their future heal fastest and best. So never give up hope! Keep fighting! You can defeat this thing with your mind! If you ever want some words of support, or just to chat, feel free to pm me. |

I went from 50% capacity when I quit to what I have now because of the alpha one factor which doesn't allow lungs to repair after a cold, etc. It sure does alter the way you live your life but after 6 yrs. on oxygen 24/7; I live with it, laugh and enjoy life tangled up in my oxygen cords. Sometimes not too happy, but mostly glad for all the life I do have, friends, family and of course mmj which allows me to relax, breathe and not sweat the small stuff. The good thing with me and weed is that it truly takes some of my biting edge off. Witch and bitch could sometimes be my middle name.

Rep Power: 53 | Re: Today Is 1 Year Of No Tobacco Smoking Keep it up Steve-O!!!! That's awesome!!! Yeah when I first quit I was smoking packs of j's to replace cigs and slowly I've lost the craving for a cig. Of course every now and again I'll get that little desire to have one, but then I tell myself I don't do that anymore and I'm ok! LOL Unfortunately due to my increased asthma related issues and other bronchial problems I must soon quit smoking EVERYTHING. I sure wish I knew how to cook... I've wasted... ok... laugh...(wait for it) NOW! More than 2lbs of medicine in attempts to cook: A. My own cannabutter. B. My own food. C. My own drinks. Yes... wasted unrecoverable medicine... Top shelf too. Eh... what's a girl to do?! But hey, it keeps me shoppin' right? LOL Stay smoke free and pink lunged! DP~ |
