Rep Power: 29 | REMINDER: Recovery this weekend REMINDER: C.P.R. (Cannabis Patients in Recovery) Recovery Meetings begin this Sunday, 1/28 at 2pm, at CCCN.. All Interested Patients are Welcome to Attend. It doesn't matter if you identify as an addict or anything else. You don't have to identify. If you are interested in the subject and you have a valid rec, please come. ----------------- Agenda: 2pm - Introductions around the room. Everyone states their name (and WT screen name if they want to) and if they choose to they can briefly identify the issues they are trying to recover from. 210 - I will explain the concept of the group.. why we are meeting.. what influenced the creation of the group.. who it is geared towards.. what we hope to accomplish with these meetings. 215 - I will tell my personal story in addiction recovery and as an MMj patient.. In future meetings, whomever leads will tell their story. 220 - Open the meeting for sharing.. Leader will call on patients to share based on who raises their hand or by choosing randomly if no one volunteers. Each share will be 1-5 minutes, depending on how many people want to speak. 240 - Pass the basket. Donations will be split evenly between CCCN (As a thank you for hosting our meeting) and ASA. If any patient is not a supporter of ASA but still wants to contribute, they can designate a charity of their choice and I'll be happy to direct the money where it needs to go. About donations.. I understand we are all on a budget. Donating is entirely voluntary. Suggested amount is only $1 per person, per meeting. I think a good target is to be able to give ASA and CCCN each at least $1 per person based on average weekly attendance, per month. I will donate regularly because I think it's good karma.. but I'm not requiring others to do the same.. I'd rather have you fill the chair with yourself rather than fill the basket with your dollars. Please.. if you don't want to or can't afford to donate-- do not let that keep you from attending. 250 - Secretary's report. (I'll be the secretary for now, but it may change later). I will give a 2-3 minute update on the status of the group.. donations made or collected or spent (coffee and tea.. snacks.. etc.). I might make some announcements about political events within the movement.. Then I will ask if anyone else has announcements related to upcoming events for Recovery or Medical Marijuana. 255-End - Open forum to talk about whatever.. Co-ops, politics, spirituality, philosophy.. hobbies.. ailments.. strains. medicating.. current events.. -------------- We may or may not stick to this exactly.. play it by ear... as time goes on we may insert specific readings as part of the format.. but unlike AA or NA, we don't have a book.. we don't have 12 steps.. we don't as yet have any slogans. Your suggestions for anything like this, if we even want to go that route, are welcome.. |

Rep Power: 29 | Re: REMINDER: Recovery this weekend Hahaha.. It was a meeting of one! No big deal.. I didn't expect much of a turn-out the first time.. I'm thinking we'll skip the meeting next week because of the super bowl.. if there were more people here, I'd have it anyway, but since there isn't, I'm going to a super bowl party.. So.. I'm still here at CCCN as of 320pm. I'm going to hang at least till 4. the room is set up.. theres food and drinks.. come by if you just want to know what it's about.. That's all I've really done here today is tell a few people what it's about and offer free food and drinks.. Probably will go that way for the first few meetings, till we get more of you to venture out from behind you monitors.. Anyway, it's a beautiful day and I'm glad to have made it over here to see some good friends that I don't get to see nearly enough of lately. Time well spent.. Today is a good day.. Rep Power: 29 | Re: REMINDER: Recovery this weekend Don't feel bad.. It's understandable that something like this would have a slow beginning. endless, i know goshen I think.. Sounds like a familiar freeway sign and aroma.. Okay.. So, let's try this again, this coming Sunday!! How about it? If I get just 2 people who RSVP, either privately or publicly, then we'll do it! If no one RSVPs I'll still be there at 2pm on Sunday... thinking about recovery. For those of you who are far away and would like to be here otherwise... Be patient.. If it works and grows, we'll be in your area soon enough.. On another note.. did anyone go to the Stephanie Landa letter writing thing at ADHC over the weekend? I wanted to be there but had so many stops to make prior... and got lost so often... that I couldn't make it in time. |

| Re: REMINDER: Recovery this weekend repost your notice in the main SoCal forum, I feel you are not reaching the whole audience of viewers in this sub forum. I will do my best to be there and urge all those fighting through addiction on there own to join this group Leo has worked hard to build. Quote:

Rep Power: 609 | Re: REMINDER: Recovery this weekend True healing and recovery come from working the steps, and the need for a higher power is paramount. I'm interested in attending since I no longer feel a part of AA anymore. My only concern is privacy. AA meetings have the same protection that a priest has in the confessional. If this is not an AA or NA sacntioned meeting then to recieve that same legal protection you would probally have to tie it into a church and present it has a 12 step meeting through that church. I'm not telling anyone to pick a religion. Any church or minister will do fine. Theres a few churches out there that are Gnostic and actually promote the use of marijuana. I'm sure that any of them would be more than happy to sponser the meeting as a church function. |

Rep Power: 1699 | isn;t hard to get more then three people to do the same thing at once!! don't you agree!, ecept get medicated, but maybe you will get lucky, i live so far away, but despartly need meeting's as doe's some friend 's of mine, we both have a lot of time in recovery with NA and AA, but since starting mmj i feel ostracized, so i don;t feel i can be honest with them and that effects my recovery, as far as being rigrously honest, which i try real hard to be,, but here in the valley, they are so judgemental that their is no being and sick enough for mmj, in their eye's, it;s mind changeing and mood altering, so it's useing.. i see their point, but i see mine too, so it's not worth the fight to me, so i am looking for another place to go and find my higher power as i don;t have long to live, with hepc i am very limited in how long i have left, maybe a year, as i have been very sick, with staff infections and i am on predizone and that mkes you real sick. and i am feeling kinda scared about my higher power and what i choose to call god, i was wondering if anyone knew of a meeting close to visailia for mmj patients. se ya endlesssky |
