Rep Power: 13 | Re: i think i need help i dont know what your addiction is...but a common cure for a cretian addiction is something called somenx or something like that (do some research about it first, i saw a story on the news about the drug also)....NOT SOMA (that would probably make things worse)... a friend went into rehab for opiate addiction, they gave him that somenx for a week and he was out.... If that is your problem the place was in tarzana something like 2000 for a week, but my friend said they didnt do anything except give him that drug. he said it worked well.... good luck, |

I used to be a meth addict. what you are going through is going to be one of the most difficult challenges you've ever faced. i'm not a psychologist or any kind of professional rehabber but if you ever need to talk or vent just give me a holler. sometimes just talking can help. sometimes just knowing that someone is there that you can talk to will help. now that you've admitted to yourself that you have a problem you have won half of the battle. admitting there's a problem is the first, most difficult step. now you have to do the rest. get off of the poison my friend.... you can do it. i know you can! you know you can too. forget one day at a time - take things minute by minute. and remember - i am here for you as are so many other of your WT brothers and sisters. much love spacey

Rep Power: 49 | Re: i think i need help bless you friend, and i commend your courage. it seems you are at a point that, whether subconciously or consiously, something is triggering the lil voice in the back of your head that you need to stop. i'd advise to heed to it now before you lose it. my first question to you, the validity of your sincerity...? do you really, i mean really want to be clean? if that answer is yes, then the sacrafice to get it outweighs any cost you should have to pay to get it. when i kicked my demons i had to leave. i had to leave my family, divorce my wife, i lost my kids...but none of that means shit when i was out high, and couldn't even grasp life. well, i'm sure you've heard it, i got sick and tired of being sick and tired- and the thrill of why i used, by that time, was gone. it didn't work sober and didn't work drugged anymore- so i was in a world of shit. the good news, what ever you set your mind to, and you strat finding the things in life that substantiate a soul's true worth, you will make whatever sacrafice it takes to keeep this new found harmony. it is a new life. everything around you becomes more colorful, and people aren't as BIG of a asshole as you'd think. family become a priceless worth. you begin to find real purpose that makes a real life. in no where do i say this picture makes life easier, but being sober sure does make it easier to deal with life. just know, and don't fool yourself- this will not be easy, and will take much sacrafice and work on your part. you have got to really want it to get it, and work even harder to keep it. your life will be come one of sacrafice, not selfishness- you proabably already know you have to give away to keep what you have... the only selfishness you upkeep is that of your well being. yo ulose your well-being, you lose all ability to help another person. i believe in you. if sobriety is realy want you want, then you need to do whatever it is for yo uto obtain this. go to any and every program. they all don't work. you need to find the place that, "clicks," for you. my brother, i wish you well. i will pray for you and your courage to defeat this devil and the semen he taints you with. be strong, and never be afraid to reach out. i did it, and a lot of other, "deep-end," users have kicked it. you can do it too. be well. like spacey said, you need to talk, shoot me a message. i love you brother, and be good to yourself, you deserve it! |

| Re: i think i need help I'm sorry things are out of control for you but I'm so glad you wrote this post. I just wanted to mention that although drugs to help you off your addiction may be very effective, I'm sure you know that they have to be used in concert with rehab and therapy, in- or outpatient. The physical addiction is only part of the problem. At the crisis hotline where I used to work, we counseled a lot of addicts and people in recovery so we had lots of referrals (many low-cost) for those situations. You might try calling a hotline yourself; you don't have to be suicidal, but just let the person know your situation and that you need some help with your addiction including referrals if they have any. Best of luck to you. |

Rep Power: 83 | Re: i think i need help No matter what kind of rehabilitation you seek, nothing will work unless you TRULY want it and know that you CAN do it. Don't put the drugs on a pedestal like most, know that you are stronger than your "addictions". p.s. much respect on putting the effort forth in getting clean. |

Rep Power: 84312 | Re: i think i need help I personally tried almost every rehab and program in So. Cal. and all I can say is when you've had enough beating the crap out of yourself you'll finally quit. Until then my friend, I can only suggest a 4 gram a day intake of the finest meds you can get your hands on. I live out in the I.E. (San Bernardino County) and always have enough meds to go around. I used to tweak, shoot heroin, fry balls, coke out, etc. for over half my life....I go skydiving whenever I need to get REAL HIGH...12,500 feet HIGH Hit me up any time ANY TIME AT ALL |

| Re: i think i need help I'm so glad you decided to make that post at all, that alone is huge! If you are 100% ready to quit, I would give rehab a try ASAP. Never been myself, but a very close friend of mine went twice, the second time he kicked his habit. You will come out of this alright, it WILL be hard but it is more worth it than I can possibly put in words. I'm here to listen if you need someone to, feel free to PM me anytime! Wishing you the best luck I can wish |

That said, you may as well try in-patient therapy, but give NA (any 12-step) meetings a try as well, at the same time. Good Luck Last edited by Poth Ead; 03-31-2008 at 01:23 PM..

Rep Power: 11894 | Re: i think i need help The_Wonka you are very brave to speak out and ask for help. Looks like everyone here gave perfect advise. The only advice I can offer is to cut those situations/people/locations/and anything else that ties you to your addictions from your life entirely. I speak from expierence. I used to use Meth like a madwoman. Lost over 100lbs and picked my face all night long. I have been sober for almost 5 years. I had to completely get rid of all those "Friends" I had and never look back. One of the best things that helped me was making new friends and "learning" how do to "normal" things. If you need anyone to talk to do not hesitate to contact me. Hope this helps some~ Stay strong you can do it!!! Peace and Lots of hugs* Sincerely, Donkey Slut |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: i think i need help Hey Ive been using oapiats since 77 and its been no picnic living the life of an addict Im sure you know. After a bank robbery conviction in 98 and serving my time at U.S.P.Lompoc (fed prison) When I was realeased I was hooked yes I had a habit in prison and the feds made me go to a live in drug program called the substance abuse foundation in Long Beach for 6 months, after being kicked out for a meth positive I was sent back to Wasco then Solano state prison ( I was on state parole also cause I did a concurrent state sentance when I was in the feds. So when I was violated for the dirty I had to go to state prison for 5 months then went to MDC in LA for the fed violation well I eventully went back to the program in LongBeach and stayed clean till I could leave I compleated 3yearas of federal probation and 3 years of state parole Well to make a long story short I have been to in-paient programs and out paient and I could not stop, so when I was off parole I got my letter for mmj then went to the methadone clinic and now Im on methadone and mmj, that is what has been working for me the last 3 years and I have no craving for opiates and have been out of trouble for a couple of years now. Good luck call a methadone clinic they will detox you from opiates GOOD LUCK Bro. |

Rep Power: 1734 | Re: i think i need help I wish I could offer you more advise then what’s already been posted. There are a lot of knowledgeable family members here on WT that have been through or are going through the same demons as you. I must admit I spent my years from 14 to 28 as a tweaker. I have been sober from the evil meth spills since July 22, 2001. Although I am not using any longer I still consider myself an addict. I know what one more time could lead to. Although the long tuff road to recovery starts with admittance the harsh struggle to follow is defiantly worth the fight. I have never felt better then to have my life back. God bless you and I wish you the best. |
