Rep Power: 71 | I support mmj in recovery. I have roughly two years and three months sobriety time. I was an mmj user for a short time before I got sober, although now I do not use any form of mmj. I do in fact support those in recovery who use mmj. This is partly due to the fact that I still take some prescription psychiatric medications. If you have any questions please feel free to ask, because I think this is a very important topic. |

If I stop using marijuana, I will have to go back on: Ambien Ativan Soma Skelaxin Compazine Phenergan Vistaril Darvocet Ultram Prevacid Zomig Imitrex And all the other medication involved for taking the above pharmaceuticals. I think I'll keep the cannabis. Good luck to you and really glad to know that you are doing better. Cyber Hugs |

Rep Power: 71 | Re: I support mmj in recovery. thank you. frankly I started using marijuana quite young. Now that I am little bit older, at 23, I believe that it is not necessarily the best medicine for a young mind. But I think that down the line I might be able to switch back. I used to be on lots of meds like yourself, BabyBoomer, but now I am on "just 3." Anyhow, I have to deal with the increased risk of diabetes as well as weight gain. I also have to be tested to make sure my liver does not get damaged. These are not good risks especially since my family has increased risk of diabetes and heart problems. Hopefully one day mmj will allow me to live without such risks. Until then I just pray for understanding and acceptance. thanks again. Last edited by pasteisme; 08-29-2009 at 11:06 AM.. |
