Rep Power: 26 | Hello PIR: My work situation changed in January bigtime. I also have 1 major health issues which requires maximum intake of oxygen and the other issue is my f...ed up stomach, which even vaping makes worse...I have had tests done...guess I have a very thin stomach lining.. yada yada yada. Of course edibles are an option. Bottomline, I smoked for the Super Bowl. I have been 100% sober since. Went to 3 AA meetings two weeks ago. Went to 4 AA meetings last week. And did not identify as a newcomer at any of those, cause I don't want the attention...yada yada....and I fired my old sponsor on about Feb 7 cause he was so f...ing busy he couldn't return my calls... So far so good. I have 20 consecutive days of sobriety. I have over $200 of mmj in my apartment...just have no urge to smoke or vape. However i have been thinking about baking some edibles. Just wanted to know if any of you go to AA or other 12-step meetings and claim sobriety, even though you smoke, vape, or eat mmj without abusing it. I have been in and out of program since 1990. Marijuana has always been my DOC. I got no friends outside of AA. I really enjoy the fellowship! {I would like to do edibles (or when I renew my mmj script, which is very soon, i am also going to ask for a script for Marinol). Marijuana helps me with insomnia, depression, anxiety, stress, pain....and from what i have experienced and heard, it also helps bigtime with lowering blood pressure! My bp has always been around 120/80. On Feb.8 at the doctors office it was 140/100( I had been sober for 4 days). And he when I asked him for a script for Marinol(i feel he is one of the best doctors), he said "That's marijuana...I can't do that!"} Feedback please! Thanks, Bud |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Complete Sobriety? I feel for you brother. Drop out rate for 12 step programs is estimated to be about 95 % (AA refuses to make available data public). The same rate is seen in people who go it alone. I have been exposed to the culture of recovery, and have a good bud who was a big drinker and is AA sober for almost two years. I think he would agree that people who are smoking and going to meetings are not fully committed. Sucks about your sponsor, other people can be so unreliable. Look to the inside for the strength you need. I used mine to kick a two hundred dollar a day iv heroin habit. |

Rep Power: 71 | Re: Complete Sobriety? it is a shame that all those trying to get sober, and fail. I am completely sober, and have the desire to use mmj. I am in support of mmj all the way. I believe I can be of support to those who need medicine, more so than me. But i am not using mmj though. I can probably help out more in this current state i am in, to right this wrong. |
