| Re: Cannibis helps me not do hard drugs I have known many ppl who used mj to rid them of a much more devastating way of life. Some still smoke mj, some dont really do anything anymore as they don't have the health or emotional need any longer. I have seen everything, done a damn good lot of it, and can say without a doubt mj is a valuable tool when dealing with addiciton, but while it may not be chemically addictive, certainly mj can promote an addictive lifestyle as well. Our meds are an amazing tool, but just the same as any other med, it can be abused. The problem is, our govt is leaving us out in the cold in terms of determining effective strengths, best ingestion methods, etc. But I will tell you right now I would rather have my best friend getting stoned in the morning than smoking rock. Hands down. So, if someone is addicted to, lets say meth, we all recognize socially this is a disease, and therefore that disease of addiction is a medical need. MMJ can certainly fit that bill and provide a far more fruitful, or at least far less destructive, lifestyle. So there is no reason to not use mmj as a tool in recovering from addiction, but its a matter of making sure you don't make an addictive lifestyle out of weed in turn. But this is coming from someone who medicates all day usually and works on a mmj website... talk about having something take over your life! :slaugh: |
