Rep Power: 0 | 28 years, no meth, no coke Every year on my birthday I celebrate the fact that in 1980 I walked away from shooting up meth and coke. I was on that s**t several times daily for over 5 years!. I did it cold turkey. I just stopped using. (I did move 1000 miles away from the nearest dealer I knew. that helped a lot!) I don't expect any kudos or congratulations, I just wanted to share this with my WT brothers and sisters. It was really a no-brainer: quit or die! Love to you all! I respect those who have gone down that path and are able to get over it and kick the habit. That's strength. Blessings, -lp |

i never used a needle as i hated the darn things, but i had enough coke and crystal meth thru me to kill 2 people. i don't expect anything either except for mercy when the good Lord judges my soul. i haven't done chemicals since 1981 and i am very proud of it. i use my meds as meds. Maybe it's due to the older you get, the wiser you get.... but only if you're listning, you seem to be doing that eh. Take care bro. | |

What do you say or do though when you just cant seem to get that friend to understand that they ARE killing themselves. I mean weather it's coke, meth, or alcohol, when do you just say enough is enough and walk away from said friend. A friend that has a good heart is killing himself and i cant seem to do anything about it!? |

Rep Power: 16 | Re: 28 years, no meth, no coke CONGRATULATIONS!!! I have seen many people go down the drain from those poisons. And you are right FinestPatron when you are on that stuff you can literally see your life, and everyone around you going down the drain. I have seen many people around me go down especially in the Rave seen (Not all Rave's are drug related). Rave = Techno music. It was never my thing like alcohol was. Thats why I know, I didn't get addicted and just stopped after a few times. Alcohol was and still is hard for me to stay away from. Thing that really stopped me drinking was the vomiting that has set in this past year. The Nausea and Vomiting in combination has driven me away from this human created poison (Blessing in disguise). Sorry if I got off subject. |

Rep Power: 73 | Re: 28 years, no meth, no coke Congrats!! I to walked away cold turkey. Only 7 years for me. It wasn't as difficult for me as it was for a lot of my friends. Most never stopped. But now I have 2 great kids and my amazing husband. The simple things in life that addiction makes almost impossible. Stay strong and stick to one of the best decisions you could ever make. |

| Re: 28 years, no meth, no coke Good on ya Spacey, we'd of likely never met had you continued down that road. My best friend once went down into the meth pit... the changes in him were astounding. I had to read him the riot act after he lost his job, tried to steal my girlfriend, and in general just didn't smell so good anymore. :) Luckily he got his shit together, likewise by moving away from those he was using with. Thank God too because at that point I was basically faced with disowning him. Long and the short is he is clean and my best friend to this day. |

| Re: 28 years, no meth, no coke I can't say a big enough congratulations , Spacey. I have seen a lot of people I loved go down that path, and most of them I didn't see come back. I'm glad you did, and have moved on from that part of your life (although being on meth is not really life at all, it would seem). Much love to ya my friend, your strength is inspirational! |

Rep Power: 473 | Spacey, i have been a marijuana somker for over 20 yrs now and as a son of a long, long time heroin user i can say that nothing could have beeN a better move than they one you've made. i've seen many family members lose their lives over that crap. my own father is still a shooter for over 40 yrs. don't know how he made it this long without more medical problems than the one's he's got. Marijuana is a like a butter knife and all other drugs are like chainsaws. you can use a butter knife in all kinds of situations and ways but you really can't kill anyone one with it. A chainsaw is used for one thing, knocking down trees! i'm so happy to hear that you didn't become a tree. any time you need a sounding board let me know i really understand the situation. and if you don't get it already, YOU HAVE MADE IT! DEAMON DEFEATED! WAY TO GO. JUST SO DAM HAPPY TO HEAR YOU MADE IT OUT! :slaugh: Last edited by spanky; 03-16-2008 at 11:22 PM.. |
