Rep Power: 233 | Red Sea Memories To swim alongside dolphins To feed the parrot fish Inches from your face The deadly moray eel To surf the wind Sun in your hair God! How I wish I once again were there. The Bedouins tent Their song, their dance The smell of life Upon the desert sand To follow a camels aimless track God! How I wish I could go back. In those days of rest and leisure Under the Arabian sun I felt that God and world And life around me Were as one. Another year older and with some luck, wiser as well. It's "my" day and so I am taking the opportunity to fall into the past and reminisce a bit, sit and reflect and look back and wonder that I am still here at all. Too many times were there “questionable circumstances” in my surviving certain things that would ever preclude me from saying that there is no such thing as a guardian angel. I think my mother found her true calling, after her death, as just such an angel, be she mine or someone else’s, she is happier now. But more to the point I wish to remember specific places, scents, sounds, tastes and textures. All of those combined in a certain order take me back to a simpler more innocent time, a time of ignorance and naiveté, of wonder, awe, of camels and bazaars, dancers, baubles, gold, silver and the finest Hashish on the planet. This tree truly bore more fruit than one man could consume in a lifetime, and though many have tried and many have fried, I too found myself lounging languorously amongst the satin pillows and silk curtains as the living pillars of femininity wove their way around us weaving their magic web of lust and desire, of need and longing. The crackling in the air as yet another desert wind wafts through taking with it the last drop of moisture. The camels bark nothing more than laughter at humanity in general; for without them there would be a feast set for death amongst the dunes should we wander too far. But for now the search is nearing its end, bliss is nearly achieved, perfection a visible thing on the horizon and only a grasp away, just there, out of reach, where it belongs, to be admired from afar but for a certain few allowed just a tad closer look. I’ll enthrall my ears with the sounds of old friends as their tunes from days gone by keep me company and psychedelic memories pop around me like soap bubbles. I’ll let my pain be wrapped in cotton candy for the day and remember what it felt like to be young and healthy again. I’ll do honor to an old friend and toast the name “Brown Jenkins” as a great Hookah of history as I melt away into the past to visit for a while ghosts of the past and try to make amends. Peace - Pot - Microdot May all of your days be filled with Health, Love and Happiness and your nights with Passion. Graehstone ![]() |
