Rep Power: 27688 | Hope and Dew -HG -------- Hope, you traitor! You spring anew daily, duly, with the dew. You whisper: "See all these dewdrops? Just one will do! Surely this new dew will do." Time turns hope sour. Sun's up an hour and little thieves, they steal away, gone! Where were so many, then less but still plenty, are but few that too soon run to none. No hope at last. A pauper's repast is to feast upon hope when you haven't got one. Hope, you drug! I need you! Surely, sweet hope the next dew will do. |
