Rep Power: 26606 | Re: postcard contest: vote for the winner #2 is the most effective. i would change the "glow" on the words "weedtracker" to green (on the front of the card) to match the logo and the back. i would also make the font on the type around the logo bolder (on the front) and not have the initial caps bolder than the rest of the copy. on the back, i would increase the weight of the white copy as well (needs to be bolder to reverse out of cmyk). love the use of the radar logo on the back ---both the "blow up" and using it as bullet points. #1--the designer went a little too over the top w/ photoshop. too many "effects"/filters, the psychedelic type is too hard to read, and all of the body copy is too light to reverse out of cmyk #3--i like the repetitive "wallpaper" effect, but all of the type is too difficult to read. the fonts need to be changed to something more legible. |

Rep Power: 9 | Re: postcard contest: vote for the winner I think that the #2 front with the #1 back would be great. #1 is more informitive but has way too much to look at. Close between the two but if i had to pick one i would say #2 is the BEST OVERALL. Clean looking and stright to the point which is what you want on a flyer. ![]() |

Rep Power: 49433 | Re: postcard contest: vote for the winner My choice is no. 2 hands down, less is more. The information is easily read and well done. Think 3 could make me vomit if I looked at it too long. No. 1 is way too much information. You don't see the really good ads giving all the information on one screen or one scene. Was in advertising for 8 yrs. before I embarked into the beauty biz and acting. Think I still know my stuff. Designed and sold space ads to car dealers at a major newspaper. VW always had the most simple and best ads. I still think that holds true for some of the best cars in TV Ads. |

Rep Power: 20570 | Re: postcard contest: vote for the winner #2- more legible, less is more as someone said, eye grabber. My personal choice. #1 is a really nice layout, but the type font is just not legible enough, it doesnt leap out at you... #3 is also nice, but has real legibility issues for me.... But overall, DAMN we have a talented bunch here! |

Rep Power: 66 | Re: postcard contest: vote for the winner Design 2 and 3, are nice but look amateur. Design 1 looks totally professional and I would actually be suprised if they didn't design for a living. If you don't do it for a living , you should. |

Rep Power: 40 | I just wanted to point something out... The reason why some people are having difficulty reading the type is because these images are only 1/4 scale. What's happening when you shrink an image by 75% is that three quarters of the dots that make up the image are simply thrown away. Which is not only going to make small type look too small, but is also going to cause distortion thus making it look blurry and not particularly legible. I think it's probably too late at this point, but if an admin could post links to the full-size images you would see a big difference. |
